We've been purchasing Cookes fuels for a number of years now and up until last year never had a problem. Then we had a delivery of oil that left terrible smelling oil fumes throughout the house. We immediately had the oil heating system checked and serviced but nothing was found to be wrong with it. We had to live with the smell opening windows and doors as much as possible until all the oil was used up and we could replace it. We've purchased more oil from Cookes and everything has been ok up until the last delivery which was approx 6 weeks ago. I could smell the difference almost straight away and it's gradually got worse. We have just returned from a week away and on opening the front door we were greeted with horrible smelling oil fumes that have permeated the whole of down stairs even though the doors have been closed. I worry that this could be endangering our health so if anyone has encountered the same problem I would be grateful for some advise on how to eliminate the smell. Also thinking if this could be an inferior batch of oil?
