I wanted to purchase my fiancé and I some meals from cook last weekend. We very often make use of their meals however on this day I attended alone after a busy day and was wearing very ‘casual wear’. As I entered I noticed an employee regard me by looking up and straight back down to stocking the freezer. A few moments later a couple walked in who appeared very smartly dressed.. the same lady greeted them, welcomed them into the shop and ushered them over to the counter to sample the mulled wine and mince pies. I felt humiliated, I felt judged because I was wearing jogger bottoms and a jumper.. I felt stereotyped as not being able to afford from cook because I was treated differently to the couple. Yes it does happen in life however this time I noticed.. and it hurt. I will never shop in there again.
