I urge people that are unhappy to make a Formal Complaint!! And don’t be fobbed off with PALS !! Go as high as you can ! Someone will have to listen at some point !! Not fit for purpose! You literally will be waiting around 4/5 months from one appointment to the next, no care plans, or help in between appointments, if they mess up it will be your fault ( you are confused and the one with M/H problems, so it must be you) Don’t retain staff so no continuity of care, in two years only had one letter following up from psychiatrist appointment. Shame as 20 years ago it was really good. Update: I was discharged due to “not engaging with service “ it’s not possible to engage with a non existent service!!

I was referred here after moving half a mile down the road, and no longer being able to attend Hahnemann house. I attended every single appointment, managed every piece of "homework" they set me. Eventually giving into the need for medication due to the constant barriers and hurdles they presented. All before the geniuses here decided to diagnose me with something they informed me they don't cover. They then threw me back to my GP without a care in the world. I went back with formal letters to which I received a reply "there was nothing more to add". Upon speaking to my GP they re-referred me after looking at my notes, seeking CBT or DBT support, to which this lovely place sent another letter declining the referral. They accused me of anger issues, and diagnosed me with an Anti-Social personality disorder, all before the letter they sent advised me to read self help books about people that were domestically abusive in previous relationships. Now considering this comes after they diagnosed me with, borderline personality disorder, emotionally unstable disorder, dissociative disorder, depression, anxiety and complex PTSD (from domestic abuse among other things), the cherry on the cake if discharging me, with a new diagnosis because they simply cannot be bothered to support me anymore, and then attempt to push the blade in them selves by attempting to trigger me with material that relates to my PTSD, only by hinting that I, instead of a victim is the one to blame. This place genuinely has ruined all the work I have put in over the past four years. They do not care for your wellbeing at all. Please avoid this place at all costs.

absolutely appalling & disgusting, beyond unacceptable mental health services. i have severe trauma & they won't even assess me for ptsd let alone give me the urgently pressing desperate therapy i need. i agree with other reviews, utterly despicable & abhorrent service. doctors do not stick to any psychiatric protocols; im not a qualified psychiatrist but i know way more than these negligent harmful untrained workers. agree with comment that this "specialist service" is a "disorganised chaotic mess" edit/update (3wk later) - I’m glad 2 people have found this helpful so far. I’d like to join a patient participation group with Dorset CCG, because evidently not enough is being done. It’s just not on, mentally I’ll vulnerable patients should not suffer. An update - I went away for a bloody funeral & apparently I’ve been let going by these a-holes. Me, a sensitive, vulnerable patient with severe mental health issues & adhd, sent away because *they* didn’t get in touch with *me* to see why I’ve not been in touch?!

Useless , makes people worse rather than helping with mental health problems

An appalling service which doesn’t actually care about mental health, patients or potential patients. Doesn’t listen to what you say or need. Doesn’t view your problems as severe even when you’ve been in hospital requiring stitches. Declines referrals without even speaking to the patient.

Awful!!! I have been suffering with symptoms and was diagnosed. The doctor gave me a sheet of paper with books to read about the condition and told me it was more of a self help treatment. Didn’t put me on any waiting lists for treatment. Didn’t advise on any medication either! I have been suffering recently from some awful symptoms I must have called well over 10 times in the past two months! No treatment plan put in place at all. They tried to prescribe me some medications after weeks of suffering which gave me an awful reaction and are actually anti psychotics. They diagnosed me with something pretty scary and have left me to suffer on my own. I do have to credit a lovely duty worker Tracy who I’ve spoken to on two occasions who has been so warm kind and helpful. But the place on a whole is a shambles!

The people who work hear should be ashamed. Strongly recommend avoiding them thay do not care about people with mental illness thay actively hate and discriminate them. I have spent a good proportion of my life supporting people with mental health though my work with both samaritains and mind mental health and I cannot believe people who claim to work in mental helth can be so horrible. The kind of people that would be first to volateer to electricute us back in the dark ages of mental health and hopefully a thing of the past very soon. If you work for the cmht and you read this I hope you are ashamed of yourself

I am shocked and appalled by my treatment from this place. Locum staff lied on letters they sent out, changed things I said omitted things I said and used many suggestive terms. Covering each others rear ends. Even a situation that didn't happen and wasn't discussed in appointment from a previous situation was brought up in a letter, only they made it sound like I was trying to upset people at the CMHT. This is the worst place ever. Change your doctor so you get put under a different CMHT, refuse to use this one, do whatever you can because this CMHT has done nothing but made me 100 times worse, got everything wrong and tries to protect themselves. Should be Community Make your Health worse Team. Edited to add: Tracy and Sandy on the duty team are lovely and do what they can. The pearl on a cloud of a service.

I was referred here after attempting my life twice. It started off well, the lady I was meeting, Sarah, was lovely. However, they decided to discharge me today even after me attempting my life 5 times, the last one being 4 nights ago. They decided there was nothing else they could do for me and this was decided by Dr Mutta. They asked me if I had any plans of harming myself today and I said yes and told them exactly what I'd use. Both sarah and dr mutta just sat there, didn't say anything in return and let me walk out the room. After telling someone else I had been discharged, they said they wasn't surprised it was by turbary park. They seem to have the worst representation and are known to give up on their patients. I'm now left completely alone without any support when I need it most. I would 100% avoid this place. I started off not understanding the other reviews on here, as I thought sarah was really nice and it was all going well, but now I understand why everyone else is leaving bad reviews. As a mental health team, I really wish they would listen to their patients.
