Really unfriendly guys, clearly not enjoying their jobs. Couldn’t recommend them to anyone, and definitely won’t use them again.

Lots of good stuff (and some less good, as you'd expect) - many bargains to be had. I'm on a budget furnishing a house I've just moved into and have picked up several good items. The people leaving one-star reviews because they don't get treated like royalty or can't be bothered to check opening hours, can go to Newbury's well-known department store for their household goods - good quality, respectful staff, and prices to match! The Furniture Project is a charity run by volunteers, and as such, does a great job. (And you get 1/3 off if you're a pensioner or on benefits.)

Always my first port of call when I need furniture or other items for my home, or if I have something to donate. And always service with a smile. Thanks everyone at CFP.

Since moving to the Newbury area, and not knowing very many people, somebody suggested the Newbury Furniture Project as a place to go to buy my son a new bed. The service was exemplary and I have returned there almost weekly ever since. When Covid was over, and still to this day, there is adequate provision for you to sanitise your hands. Ample parking, and a vast array of stock, varying from bikes to cabinets, books to bric a brac etc. I use a frame as I am currently waiting for a replacement knee, and the members of staff are very kind, the manager often getting me a chair to sit on for my comfort! The two ladies behind the counter are Jackie and Maureen I believe and are so kind and friendly and really lift my spirits especially as I am often in hospital now, with other health issues. I could have had an absolutely wretched week, but I go in there and their happy, smiling faces lift my spirits better than any tonic could. Jackie, Maureen and a lady called Mo always ask me how I am, often carrying my basket whilst I make my purchases. I did manage to get my son's bed in there too , along with a brand new IKEA bed, with drawers etc. The following weeks I was lucky enough to find a matching chest of drawers and matching bedside table too. The delivery rates are very reasonable. The men that work behind the scenes are very cheerful and chirpy. All in all, not only do you get absolute bargains in there, but for me, it has become an embedded part of my weekend, an absolute treasure trove and a superb community hub. I cannot praise the staff enough, and the ladies in particular. Congratulations and thank you 😊

You need to keep your wit's about you, recently dropped back a seriously faulty bike. The warehouse guy removed the saddle bag and the contents went missing, perhaps considered the perks of The job. Charity do not admit to their faults and are great at procrastinating. However did fix the bike after asking to pay for the seriously worn parts. (Did make a donation for the repairs even though I had only had the bike for 4 days). There are a good number of bargains to be had for sure. But keep a close eye on your personal position's. NB: there is a new charity shop opened next to Gregg's, the bakery, Newbury, worthwhile checking out as well.
