Went on a whetstone course with Gaz last week and it was a really good course. He went through all of the theory in a good amount of detail, but the majority of the time was hands on sharpening your own knives. I now feel confident to sharpen my own knives at home. Thanks Gaz!

The most fantastic shop! Excellent range of carefully curated knives and kitchenwares. Gaz really makes you feel welcome and is beyond knowledgeable. I just attended a knife sharpening class with Gaz which was expertly led, taking you through the theory, to demonstration, before providing excellent guidance when it comes to the practical side of sharpening your own knives. They provide post-class support with a guide and encourage you to contact with any questions. I now feel confident in the technique of using a whetstone and can’t wait to get to work on the draw full of dull blades in the kitchen. A top evening learning something new and having a great time while doing so! I can’t recommend this business highly enough and highly encourage all to pay them a visit! It’s a refreshing change when it comes to buying knives to be advised on the merits or otherwise of the options you like for a specific purpose. And let’s be honest ‘be arsed’ about sharpening is right, blunt knives are dangerous. I visited Ilkley specifically to go to Community Cutlery & was not disappointed!’
