Compared to most options for student accommodation, Columbia Lodge is a relatively nice place to live at. The location is a really quiet area where you can get away from the hustle and bustle of the main student areas and it's really close to the routes for the U6 and 1 buses. You also get given a lot of appliances like a flat screen TV, dishwasher, dryer, washing machine etc and they all make life so much easier when you've got uni work to be juggling. The warden and the maintenance team (actually everyone I have met so far that works for superuni ) are lovely and always do their best to help how they can but I will say the FixFlo reporting system often loses issues brought up so I have had to directly call the office if I needed anything done somewhat urgently. I should also add that during the water outage around February we were provided with porta potties by the landlords even though this was not something they had to do for us. One issue we did have was that because our flat had been refurbished over the summer, the first few months meant we had a few minor things we had to keep waiting on like mirrors in one bathroom, fixing some holes in the walls made by the builders but this was all manageable and didn't make much of a difference. Overall, really nice place to stay and I highly recommend if you are okay with the odd maintenance issue taking a while to be fixed every now and then.

Terrible place to stay, please avoid at all cost. The owners never responds to any of the complaints or damages of the property even though it has been reported multiple times in a few months. The rooms are cold with no proper heating. Find other places to rent.

We were cheated on our deposit. We moved into a flat which was an ok level of cleanliness. We deep cleaned our flat before leaving and left the place cleaner than we found it. However, cleaning fees were deducted from our deposit. It is unreasonable to expect tenants to pay a deposit to move into accommodation that is not clean, then expect them to leave the accommodation at a higher standard of cleanliness. Even missing keys were deducted from our deposit without them checking we had returned them.

Extremely poor service with heating! We have tried to get in contact multiple times as it is freezing in our rooms, and have been waking up feeling ill every morning. There are people in other flats who get radiators in their rooms, we do not and yet we still have the pay the same rent. They said they were trying something new to see which method of heating is better, but for us, this has been a problem since the day we moved in. We have been very cold from September to December. Every time we get in contact, which already in itself is very hard to access them, the problem is solved for one day where it is warmer in our flat, and then it goes back to normal. We even had to go a few days without hot water, so no hot water or heating in the winter. Absolutely unacceptable; would give 0 stars if that was possible. Extremely disappointed and would NOT recommend to anyone!
