AVOID - Especially if you are a BELLWAY customer. They are completely impartial and act for the developer because of the amount of money they’re clearly making from Bellway recommendations. Painful experience throughout. Got charged the same for a legal conveyancer rather than a solicitor. Dealt with Shona Archer - extremely poor communication, rarely ever answered the phone, constantly out of office. She didn’t ask the proper conveyancing questions which we had to probe her to ask. Raised various disputes over land and conveyancing plans, she was quite clearly on the developers side. Eventually, she lost all contact with us and we didn’t even hear from her on the day of completion which was pretty shocking - despite her being in the office. AVOID - Pay the same money and go somewhere who’ll actually ask the proper questions and be on YOUR SIDE.

EVENTUALLY, I got what I wanted. Extremely poor communication with Coffin Mews, Shona Archer in particular. You might get a reply to an Email within a week. WOULD NOT USE AGAIN.

Absolutely disgraceful - my husband died recently so I called to find out if they were holding his will, as they couldn't get anyone to answer their phone this morning I left my email address and asked them to get back to me by email. Nothing by 4.30pm, so called again, eventually got put through to a young woman who snottyly said "it's a bad time at the moment can you call back tomorrow".....words fail me....

Great service by Coffin Mew. Shona Archer and Ed Davies were extremely helpful and managed to secure our new built flat without any hassle. We have completed our new build help to buy purchase today and very happy. I recommend Coffin Mew specially Shona and Ed for those who want to purchase their flat and are looking for top quality solicitors.

Dont use this company if you value your time and sanity, we used them when buying our first shared ownership house and at first they seemed OK, but when it came close to completing our mortgage I could never get hold of them, we dealt with Elisabeth Smith, the main desk would always say she's not in the office, we will get her to call you back, she never called back, never responded to emails, nobody in the whole business was able to help us apparently apart from Elisabeth Smith who was never available, there was a period of 2 weeks at one point where I emailed and called at least 3 times a day every day and still no response. The night before completion of our property at 5pm one of the members of staff at Coffin Mew sent us an email stating they had received our mortgage funds from the lender which was £399 short, this amount was for the lenders fees which we needed to pay that evening to Coffin Mews bank account otherwise we wouldn't be able to complete in the morning. Obviously this was very stressful as we had the mortgage offer stating that the lenders fees would be added to the mortgage and repaid over the term, but when we tried to contact Coffin Mew that evening to inform them of this as soon as we received the email, they had all gone home, we managed to speak to somebody from Coffin Mew out of hours who informed us that it wasn't down to them to make sure the mortgage funds being transferred from the lender is correct despite the fact they charged us £2000 for their services, we just needed to pay the shortfall to complete in the morning, obviously we had no choice but to pay this. We are now in the process of renewing our mortgage and have been advised by our mortgage advisor and our mortgage lender that we have paid the lenders fee amount of £399 twice as it has been added to the mortgage to be repaid over the term and we also paid it upfront the night before completion, so we have been in contact with the lender to see if we can get a refund and they have advised that they can initiate a refund, but we need to get our solicitor to contact them so they can answer a few questions... once again I'm in a position of phoning Coffin Mew daily and sending emails and being told that I will get a call back as Elisabeth is not in the office, I'm not getting any response from my emails. I will not stop until I get this resolved, but we will be reluctant to use Coffin Mew in the future

Another compliment to Ian Peach and team. It has been a trying time over the last few years however, the teams dedication and out of hours working has ensured we will back back again to engage with your services. Thank you.

The most unprofessional solicitors I’ve dealt with to date. Very good at taking your money but delivering nothing. Our case has been going for 4 years with a build. Coffin Mew have done nothing but slow the process down, delaying everything along the way, just so that there is more correspondence to make them more money. And now we are trying to finalise, I’ve left numerous messages with our solicitor and with reception to call me back so we can push this over the line, and they are not interested. Avoid at all costs.

Coffin Mew were excellent when helping us purchase our new home. Charlotte Goodson has been great. We were kept up to date and never had to chase anything. Very professional and helpful. About the only thing that has gone smoothly with our house purchase. We will definitely be using Coffin Mew again when we move in the future!

Awful costumer service. Not only they are slow answering they provide little to no support to the people that are paying to them. All they care is your money. Lost the property for their lack of support or problem resolution.
