In your time of need please bare in mind that you should not sign up to the co op just because they were called out to undertake your loved one. A few tips may help you. 1 check before you commit what the £800+ fees for professional services, support and advice involves. I can now say it is not value for money. 2. do not be afraid to find coffin suppliers yourself and reject the hard sell you will get from co op to use their suppliers at three times the cost. 3. The ladies there I am sure mean well but they job share so you will not be dealing with one person you will be dealing with at least two. For the day of the service you deal with a third, who actual was efficient. 4. Do not think what you tell one will actually happen if it falls on the day the other is working. 5. Expect calls from each asking you the same questions or for things you have already done. I paid £3329 and we provided our own coffin and casket for the ashes. Me and three brothers carried my mother so no poll bearers. We had the hearse only. When I called to collect the ashes the member of staff wasn't even aware they were at the funeral care centre. She couldn't find the casket we had provided and I had to transfer the ashes from a cardboard box to the casket myself. They left out of the order of service a eulogy by a member of the family despite it being expressly requested in an email. When I called to finalise the invoice they failed to remind me that the cash donations to charity were available. Speak to other independent funeral directors I think you will find a better and more efficient value for money service.
