After spending more time getting off horses via the side exit my confidence was zero to none. Just had my first lesson at cloughfields my confidence is massively boosted. Jodie has such an amazing and positive way of explaining things. She’s quick to correct and even quicker to praise so I immediately understood what was needed. Can’t wait to turn these lessons into a regular series. And all the people in my lesson couldn’t have been nicer. I truly felt welcomed. Thanks and see you soon x Evelyn

I love Cloughfields, I have recently started riding here and had a change from a previous riding school. They are so welcoming and really allow you to shine and be independent within your riding. Something different each week and never dull. I hope to ride here for a long time:)

    Very rude

The owner was actively rude to my 5 and 2 year old children for looking at the horses in the field off Bolehill Rd (top of Long Lane). She tried to make us move from a public highway, obviously we refused. I will be making a point of frequently walking on the public footpath through the stables (which was there when they bought it and surely was factored into the price). Edit: this happened in July 2020. Phoning you to discuss seems pointless Bruce. Edit 2: Lol, where did it say I was encouraging my child to touch a horse, she was literally looking at it through the fence. The lady who came to have a pop was on your side of the fence so I’m assuming she was something to do with your stables. She was very rude and had the social skills of Vladimir Putin. Just saying something didn’t happen doesn’t will it out of existence. From what I’ve heard from the local community and on community forums such as Facebook this is not an isolated incident.

Cloughfields is an exceptional yard, superb facilities with great people such as Mandy and Jodie who cannot do enough to help when help is needed. We have had our horses at many yards over the years, but without a doubt this is up there as one of the best.

I just wanted to update to say my experiences at Cloughfields just get better and better! The horses and ponies are so well cared for and loved, and there’s a horse for every level. The atmosphere is excellent and I’ve formed real friendships here. The competitions are so much fun and such a lovely way to bring everyone together and recognise the achievements of everyone, young and older! I look forward to bringing my step-daughter here when she’s old enough as I have been to many stables but none compare to Cloughfields.

Had a nightmare time with this establishment. After 12 lessons and £300 down my granddaughter has gone backwards in her riding. In 12 weeks she has barely been able to get a pony into trot and having watched two of the recent ones I could see why. In the lesson I observed the five horses managed around 50 meters between them in trot as the riders kicked in vain. The ponies are not suitable for young riders. My granddaughter decided to quit just after I had paid for a 4 lesson block as she couldn’t face it anymore. I asked for a refund and they said no . I said I would leave a suitable review and they then said I could have a refund but it would have to be cash even though I’d sent my bank details and said I would have to drive 10 miles to collect. I asked how much the refund would be and they wouldn’t reply. They then said if I left a bad review their solicitor would be in touch. So here it is 😂 I’ve told them I don’t want any refund. I was sick of being treat like a child by there management team. They then said they tried to sell the business on Wednesday to refund me.😂 Really poor customer relations in every dealing I’ve had with them.

Thank you so much for yesterday's dressage event. It is so fantastic to have the opportunity to learn, to spend time on the yard and with the ponies and to laugh with friends. Jodie and Mandy, your hard work putting these events on for us and your infectious enthusiasm is so appreciated. Bring on the gymkhana x
