This place was absolutely iconic. I stayed just a couple of months before the pandemic hit and now it feels like those memories come from a past era.. very weird feeling but it adds up to the nostalgic vibe. Students, laughs, colourful, wacky and labirintic spaces. And the study room in the court. This place was a vibe.

I've stayed in about 50 hostels in my time, and this is the 3rd or 4th ive been woken up after 4am. Noisiest hostel ive stayed in by far, to be expected in the 18/1900s being an old prison; bring earplugs. I have no idea why the front reception blasts music out 24/7.

Enough to say that I found people sleeping in my bed twice, because of the mess-up during the check in. My friend got checked-in for a wrong month and only hours after his arrival it turned out that the place was overbooked and there was no bed for him. The staff said 'oops', shrugged and told him that he should look for somewhere else to stay, it was already 2 am. Only 30min of arguing later they 'found' a bed for him. Rooms and bathrooms are tiiiiiny, staff is just rude and unhelpful. Forget bedlamps or a plug by a bed. A super disappointing experience.
