I originally booked myself into a 3 day learn to lead course, but after an amazing two days of learning a lot, and having a great time on the rock, I extended it to a 5 day course. Glyn is a brilliant instructor and I could not recommend this enough, whether you are a newbie or someone looking to brush up on skills or looking for a wicked adventure-this is the place to go! Glyn also really helped me with logistics of my trip, so if you’ve any questions just shoot him an email and he can organise something that suits your schedule!

I come from a sport climbing background and went to Climb Wales to learn how to trad climb so I can grade 3 scramble and maybe dip my toes into trad climbing in the future. I've always found the premise of trad scary but now I've had comprehensive training and have a full understanding of it I can't wait to start doing it. Climb Wales covered everything and I'm confident building multi-point anchors, placing gear and abseiling. Glyn is a fount of knowledge, I always felt safe and above all, just generally a nice bloke to spend the day with. Couldn't have asked for a better weekend!

A group of 3 of us did a 2-day Trad climbing course and it was absolutely brilliant! Glyn is a fantastic teacher. We came in with just a small amount of sport climbing and bouldering between us and Glyn has given us the confidence to set up our own routes. He took us right through from belaying safely from below and above, using cams, nuts, quick draws, slings and setting up anchor points safely to belay your mate to follow you up. At which point he taught us how to take everything out and safely/tactically move your way up the rock face. Definitely got to take on some challenging routes that will push you, but Glyn is hanging from a rope next to you giving you tips as you go along (and ready to clip you into his harness if you feel a bit panicky/tired!). We had a brilliant time and couldn’t believe how much we learnt. Would 100% recommend, probably the best course I’ve been on in a long time and great value. We learnt so much more than I expected we would!

Fantastic experience! Glyn was absolutely great. Prior to the day his organisation was second to none and we were so excited for our half climbing day, it exceeded our expectations. From the outset Glyn was friendly yet professional and we felt very safe under his instruction. We were very amateur but was so impressed with how much we accomplished in the day with 3 climbs and an abseil! We wanted a challenge and Glyn gave us so much support in making that happen. He even gave us some local scenic recommendations for after the day. Thank you Glyn have fun on your next adventure with kira in tow!

An absolutely great 5 days of fantastic climbing in beautiful locations, with great people. I have learnt a lot, improved my ropework and have been supported and challenged by Glynn in equal measure, resulting in me gaining the confidence to lead climb at a much harder grade than I had ever believed possible. Cant wait to get out on the rock and put this new found knowledge and confidence to good use. - My only regret is not doing this 10 years earlier....!

Just finished a 5 days Trad climbing course with Climb Wales. Our guide Glyn was super helpful from the get-go, helping me find accommodation and tailoring the course to our interests and goals. What I think sets Climb Wales apart from other companies is flexibility. We were able to travel to find good weather and crags that suited our abilities. A high point for me was the variety of location and rock types; slate, Holyhead quartzite and limestone on a sea cliff. I would recommend Climb Wales to anyone ranging from beginners to experienced climbers who are looking to refine their skills. Not only did I learn a lot, but it was a laugh climbing with Glyn and Ian this week. I can't wait to put all the skills I have learned into practice back home in Canada :)
