  Not hired from this company nor ever will do!! Shocking management/customer service given by Rob. Our boat was damaged by a hirer of Clifton cruisers,we called to explain the damage and the fact that the hirer wouldn't stop. We was asked to put in a email with details of the incident to Jackie. 4days onwards and not even a call to say anything about it.emailed again with no answer so gave a callback to see what was happening and and was rudely told it's the bank holiday weekend and to take it further!!. Understand it being busy but a response wasn't hard to give in the time frame..plus as your boats failed to stop so neither the boat or the company would give us insurance details. I'm sure boat hire is lovely from Clifton cruisers but as for service I'm shocked and appalling behaviour given.

  Just been told by Hoseasons that our booked and paid for trip on Dancing Brook has been cancelled because Clifton have sold the boat, in the full knowledge that they have bookings. No alternative offered. Despicable.

  I would go as far to say this was the best holiday we've ever been on! Clifton Cruisers and particularly Jack were welcoming, informative and really flexible. It was our first time hiring a narrow boat with our children and 'Molly' was spotless, well laid out and we didn't want for anything. Beds were very comfortable and the extra pillows were a great added bonus as usually there are never enough! We appreciated the complimentary toiletries and the flowers for Mother's Day were a lovely gesture. The only thing I would have liked would have been a mirror above the cupboard at the front of the boat near the fixed double bed as this was close to the plug socket and was where I got ready in the mornings. However, I know now to bring one for next time! The tutorial was clear and we didn't feel rushed on our way and had the opportunity to ask as many questions as we wanted. We left a bin liner of our washing on board and Clifton Cruisers spotted this and didn't throw it in the bin which we were very grateful for and drove back to collect it. We had the best time and so much so we are booking again for longer next year! The location of Clifton Cruisers is absolutely ideal too. We had lunch before we set off and Breakfast when we came back at The Lounge- Kitchen and Bar, which was great. The only downside was the Ashby Canal was shut off for maintenance so we couldn't go on our planned route but this was of no fault of Clifton Cruisers at all and we hope to do that route next year. Thanks again Jack and all at CC! We will see you next time.

  Wonderful experience. Spent our honeymoon on Little Pea. Can get cold but you'll use less diesel than you think to keep warm, so no need to be shy with the heating. So helpful throughout. Thank you for the memories.

  Booked 'Peggy' via Hoseasons and had a wonderful long weekend break. They have clearly done a lot of work to the boat and it was in excellent condition - newly fitted shower room (great pressure and hot!), cooker and sofa, plus a smart TV which our son was very pleased with once he'd had enough of the locks! Beds were comfy, boat was warm and we had everything we needed. Customer experience on arrival was great, Jackie was friendly and helpful giving us all the information we needed, checkout was equally smooth. I also left some valuable jewellery on the boat and their team were quick to find and return it back to me via tracked post free of charge which I hugely appreciate. Would highly recommend this company!

  We rented Rosebrook a 6- berth narrowboat in October. Our week was lovely, even the weather was kind. We had one shattered window but a lad came out to secure it for us. The boat was a little tired looking as was some of the equipment but not enough to spoil our holiday. We had a lovely lunch before we set off and a fantastic breakfast when we got back - so all seemed pretty good. We accidentally left some clothes, a bracelet and a cupboard full of snacks. I phoned the boatyard about 45 minutes into our journey home and was told the items would be returned to us - I told them to enjoy the snacks but we’d like the clothes and bracelet and I was happy to pay the postage. I tried calling again the following week. And the week after that. I emailed but never had any acknowledgment or reply. My husband rang and spoke to a man who said the items were parcelled up ready to be sent. They have never arrived. We are having another narrowboat holiday this year, but not with this company.

  Would never use again. Boat started sinking. Never helped find us a replacement. We were just told to get off the boat. A different narrow boat company helped us source a replacement boat. My shoes were ruined by the water entering the boat. We had to pay extra money for a replacement boat. We were given our money back but would not pay towards the extra cost of another boat, we also lost a days holiday and was not happy my new trainers were ruined. I complained by email twice my emails were ignored. The TV didn't work, the radio would only play one station. Basically the holiday was ruined. Our son, his wife and foster son were arriving the day the boat was sinking and listing badly. When they were trying to fix the leak my wet shoes were thrown onto my phone. Complete disregard for our items. Springbrook was the boat.
