Well iv been flying for 15yrs now and I heard some good reviews of this place so I went in to see if I could join to hire thier aircraft. When I arrived everything was ok, I was a little early but no bother I waited. After a hour or so I saw a " instructor " who checked my paperwork and I couldn't believe what he was asking me. Is my licence real? Is my medical ok? How much do I weigh? Can I fit in a plane? I felt like it was my first time even flying let alone passing him a logbook with over 400hrs on it. They really do have a issue with weight here at this place. He then asked me is my RT licence valid? Well yes they are for life? It sounded like he had no clue what he was going on about with checking my papers. Anyway I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Very rude and in regards this weight issue they have, under no circumstances do you need to pay because your a few extra pounds or stone. It all comes down to the weight and balance calculation of the aircraft so if you are within limits then its perfectly normal to fly in that aircraft. If its not in the envelope then the plane is overweight and you need to do something else like take less fuel ect.....but trust me DO NOT PAY FOR A WEIGHT ISSUE. Iv never seen anything like this scam at any other airport before. Anyway I went onto another school and all checked out now, no issues, no stupid questions. Clifton Aviation, stay clear. Jokers!!

Ok so I went back in January to try and help my fear of flying. I was actually worse afterwards as like another review there was a huge focus on weight. I couldn’t agree more that their scales were 2 stone more than my actual weight. This made me think the plane may crash but all it was was a money making exercise to get more money out of me. AVOID This rip off company

There are a number of points too my personal experience of using this company.. 1..weight.. Be sure too get a digital printout of your weight prior to arriving.. I say this because when we went recently, their scales showed over 2st above our actual weight and our own digital scales showed this.. This can incur further charges to your flight package.. Being that far out in terms of weight is crazy.. Company disagreed and said they weighed someone and all good.. So BOTH our weights were far over . 2.your hour flight includes taxing too runway..& fueling if required and waiting in line for others too take off.. So actually flying is around 40mins. The actual instructor ( john), was very polite at all times.. 3. If you decide to have a video done of your experience, call before to advise the company too charge camera battery prior to you arriving.. Sadly unbeknown to us, ours wasn't charged and we had aprox 10mins of filming. Tbh the camera / video part isn't really worth bothering with as we only see back of me and slightly side view. Yes guy offered it £5 cheaper but we didn't have time too view all the video prior to purchasing..but we bought it..so lesson learnt there. So be sure too view yours in its entirety.. The company were called 4times in regards our concerns and didn't get back too us until a further call was made . My intention was to learn properly to gain my licence with this company, but I have told them that this won't now be the case .. I won't be calling them again as I feel trust and engaging with eachother is a huge thing in my opinion.. And I told the gentleman straight, I won't be using their services for that part of my journey ..
