I've been a patient at Clift Surgery since arriving back from the USA in 2003. As a patient with a long term condition, I have never had anything but excellent service from all the teams at the surgery. The village is lucky to have such an excellent service right on our doorstep. Given how fast the 'village' and surrounding area has grown over the years, it is amazing how they continue to give the level of service they do. Looking at the level of service in other areas of Basingstoke, we should be incredibly thankful for the staff at Clift Surgery. I would also add that if you do have any issues, speak with a representative of the PPG (Patient Participation Group) or someone at the practice.

Rubbish really gone to the dogs. No joined up service. Forever having to chase THEM. Not happy. Took 2 weeks to prescribe my medication which left me without for a week in pain. Ongoing long term medication but refused repeat prescription. Rude incompetent and defensive staff. Totally messed up my referral and literally had to do their job for them. Absolute disgrace.

Unable to even speak with this surgery always pushing everything down the e consult route which is fine if non urgent but if you need to see a doc not going to happen. I would suggest you do like the old folks and book a slot once a month for the next year in advance just in case!

Honestly the best doctors I have ever been with, I can't fault them at all through these tough times and always been able to see someone the same day. They have always been supportive for me and my family, all the staff are lovely from reception to doctors and the dispensing side are great!

Rang to book a GP appointment with regards to an ongoing gut problem that I need attention for. Was told that my symptoms did not constitute an emergency and so I’d either have to fill in a form or wait 3 weeks to have a phone call. I then mentioned that I’ve previously had cancer and that I was concerned that my symptoms could be related, having told her it was Lymphoma she said “That’s not really a gut condition though is it?”… honestly one of the most patronising people I’ve ever had to speak to, and had made her mind up that my condition was not relevant despite having no medical qualification whatsoever to make that assumption. This is the most damning indictment of the state of the NHS I have seen yet, patients are now at the mercy of an ignorant and frankly uninterested gatekeeper who decides whether we’re worthy of getting access to treatment. It’s absolutely and utterly disgraceful and you should be ashamed of yourselves that you’ve let it get this bad, I sincerely dread to think how many people are being denied access to basic healthcare due to catastrophically poor management and the ego of this self appointed medical expert. For shame.
