  We stayed at the cottages with two other families. Everyone had a brilliant time. The cottages were very clean and had everything you needed. The pool was a big hit with the kids, as well as the games room. It was the perfect weekend away. I am sure we will be back. Rooms: The beds were very comfy.

  We stayed for a long weekend recently with our 2 little ones and I cannot recommend this place enough. From the moment we arrived we felt very relaxed, from the little personal touches in the rooms with homemade cookies and bread, to the beautiful gardens this place is a little treasure. For families with small children this place is ideal, travel cots, highchairs, children's plates etc in each room, stairgates in each cottage. The on site pool was perfect and actually very warm when you're used to being in a baby pool at swimming pools. The games rooms was great, but the best part of all were the gardens. They are absolutely stunning and super safe for kids. We will 100% be back and we have already told our friends to visit too. 20 mins from the beach if you fancy a trip, but enough to do on site for a relaxing weekend away. Thank you for such a lovely trip!

  We had a very enjoyable family holiday at Cliff House in April 2023. Our accommodation (The Granary) was excellent and had everything we needed, and our hosts were incredibly helpful in providing useful information in advance of our trip and being on hand to answer questions/solve any issues during our stay. Our children in particular loved the swimming pool! There's a huge amount to do in the local area - although for us a car was most definitely required. We would certainly recommend to other families.

  We had a lovely weekend in Orchard House. The location is so beautiful and the host was warm, welcoming and so helpful. I would not hesitate to stay again! The pool is a lovely addition to the property and with our young daughter it gave us something to do to keep her entertained. Thank you for letting us stay in your home and once again thanks for the cookies 🍪

  Nearby activities: Beaches and activities at Scarborough, Whitby, Filey all within 30 minutes drive. Also Hutton le Hole and Ryedale Folk Museum Dalby Forest has cycle trails, play area, cafe... 5 minutes drive. North Yorks Moors Railway...Steam trains leave from Pickering, 20 minutes drive. Ebberston.... the Grapes pub is 5 minutes walk away... family friendly and good food. Good playground at end of village near cricket pitch.

  This was a splendid holiday in a beautiful cottage in delightful country side. Jacqui and Alistair went out of their way to make everything special and ensure guests had an excellent time.EVERYTHING about our stay was first rate and we look forward to returning next year. We would recommend the cottages for anyone wanting to stay somewhere special

  Perfect on all counts. Granted we did visit out of season, so could not benefit from all the things we would have liked to (steam train etc), but there was nevertheless a very warm welcome, very comfortable and homely cottage, access to all services despite being the only guests (nothing was denied of us due to that, on the contrary) and what delightful surroundings. So relaxing watching the birds and nature from the window or during our walk in the gardens. Can highly recommend and will do so to friends and family alike.

  Lovely cottage in a beautiful village ideal for both countryside and the coast. We dropped off our bags and went to introduce ourselves to the owners as requested. We were shown round the games room and swimming pool and were made to feel very welcome. The bathrooms and the kitchen areas were very modern and clean and the living room was very comfortable. The gardens and the woods were better than expected and over the road is a nature reserve ideal for dog walking. The only negative things I can say about the cottage are that the heating seems to be on a timer which doesn't start until 7 am. At this time of year and being an early riser this wasn't ideal. Also there was a lack of toiletries in the bathrooms. Basic hand-wash after the loo would have been nice. These are both things that could have maybe been rectified by the owners if we had asked but certainly didn't spoil our stay. I would highly recommend even with the niggles.

  Very friendly family . Offering first class holiday let's and having an in door swimming pool is a bonus. Rooms: We stayed in Pear all rooms were very comfortable. Fully equipped.

  Our family had a great stay at Cliff House Holiday Cottages over Christmas! The Coach House and Orchard House were comfortable, clean and well-equipped and the Christmas decorations and welcome pack were perfect. Jacqueline and Alastair were extremely accommodating around hosting all 10 of us in two cottages and even brought in a spare dining table so we could all eat Christmas dinner in one house. Being able to have our doggos with us made our stay even better! The local pub, The Grapes, had delicious food and the owners were extremely welcoming and friendly. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend a holiday here, a big thanks to Jacqueline and Alastair for making our Christmas so special.
