We recently played in a four ball and were charged £40 each. The course was horrendous. First hole closed, all tee boxes closed and basically teeing off from mud patches that resembled farmers fields. Flag poles stuck in the fairway whilst they worked on greens…. And they charged you £40 for the pleasure, but didn’t tell you anything til you got there.. then only told us the first was closed. No mentions of the farmers field tee boxes we were told to play from. We emailed the club to explain our views and were replied too in a very rude way. We replied to the poor response and it was passed to the treasurer. We were offered £5 refund, an insult in itself. The four of us spent just short of £300 on our visit and the response was shocking. The correct response would be to come and play the course again, but no… £5 off and this when they admitted in an email the course was poor and we should have been told. We told them to keep the £5 each and put it in the captains charity as it was not about the money. They admitted it was poor and not up to their usual standard, but chose to do nothing about it. Very poor Cleveland Golf Club. Horrendous condition and charged top rate for the non pleasure. Total disregard for visiting golfers. Poor service and shocking response. Word of mouth is the best advertising you can give. Our advice, keep away, your custom certainly is not valued. W Anted to share the the photos of the horrendous mud tee boxes and the flags not even on the green, but doesn’t give you the option. Then you would see exactly what we meant.
