So i am an international student in the UK. This is the GP, which i have been advised to register. I have been to this medical practice for 8 months now. They are pretty helpful. I believe the reception staff keeps changing but overall they are good. Have been treated by Dr D'Souza, and she is good and knowledgeable.

I had a negative experience with Dr.Thomas, she refused to prescribe me anti-biotics even though I just came out of surgery a week ago. Didn’t throughly explain why she couldn’t prescribe it, and hung up on me after I said “ so you’re going to leave me for dead then?” She claimed that this statement was extremely rude. I don’t think it’s professional for a doctor to take a statement like that personal, she’s obviously going through something in her personal life because it didn’t make sense for her to be offended. Save yourself and a find a GP that actually cares about your wellbeing, even the receptionist hung on me too so clearly it’s a pattern they like to repeat here.

I’ve just joined this surgery and although the doctors have been a great help when I’ve needed them. The receptionist could use some further training or perhaps retirement. The older lady at the desk is extremely rude. I came in, said good morning I’m here to see the doctor at 10:15. She doesn’t need to know why. But she asked me. And then once she knew who I wanted to see, she pointed me to the lady next to her, she pointed to the check in computer to the side of her. I mean, where’s the patient service. Where’s the help!? What if I couldn’t use the computer check in. What if I had a learning or physical impairment. Why is she asking me what I’m here for!? That is not something I must disclose to a receptionist. She has my details on her system to check me in and she could have done so. Miserable woman. People come into the doctors surgery because they are in NEED, the receptionist needs to have a level of compassion and understanding for the patients otherwise work in a morgue where they don’t talk back!

I'm genuinely unsure why the ratings are so low for this place. The receptionist was incredibly helpful given all the people filtering through. Yes my appointment was about 45 minutes late and with a different doctor, BUT I ended up having a GP who was absolutely responsive to my concerns nonetheless. Coming from the US where I'm used to long waits for medical help and advice, I found this no different than being at home. I was thankful to have a GP who had a genuine concern see me. Back home, I would have had to jump through millions of hoops to even convince my old GP that something was wrong and I needed to be seen by a specialist. The waiting area was comfortable. The seats were large which for someone who is larger, is a godsend. I was able to sit for the whole wait comfortably which was suck a blessing. I do wish it was a smidge warmer in the clinic (but given the cost of living crisis the NHS struggling to fund hospitals and clinics, I get it.) I did have to contact them again last night due to another issue arising and was able to get a phone appointment for this afternoon. I am beyond thankful for the speed and efficiency shown by Clerkenwell Medical Practice and want to thank Dr Baker for all of her help thus far.

The nurse Miss Elizabeth Annobi is so kind and patient, answered my questions in detail, she is very gentle and caring. I would given 5 star for her and the doctors , but it’s not easy to call in, one star lost.
