    ALWAYS and I mean always late, your appointment is for 10am? Yeah, you ain't getting seen 'til at least 10:40am like people don't have things to do, been here with my girlfriend 4 times now and once again it's now been half an hour since the appointments supposed time and there's no sign of us being seen to, last time was 50 minutes, prior to that it was 40 and 45 before that. Also the receptionist Mike is the most miserable daunting bloke I've ever seen, shame this isn't a Vets because he looks and sounds like his cat has just died. After these results have been collected she will be leaving this shoddy practice. Not one redeeming quality about the place.

    Excellent service from GP and Practice manager; they sorted my issue out with speed, care and attention. All was resolved within days of speaking.. Very good practice I’ve been with them for 40 years, and they go above and beyond,, I have never had an issue getting an appointment, nor the correct medication..

    What a rubbish doctors went Monday 28th November ...got a prescription from doctor suppose to be e mailed to chemist went to chemist on 29th no sign of anything tried to ring surgery no answer for 30 mins ...quicker to drive to it got to front desk a receptionist called pat ...very unpleasant lady no help at all said it had been printed off not sent she would e mail it again ...I said if it's been printed off where is it she just shrugged her shoulders most unpleasant receptionist I have ever met ...avoid her at all costs

    I have just finished my employment at CMC, and I can honestly say some of these reviews are infuriating. Where possible and providing the regulations implemented by the government where adhered to, CMC allowed patients to attend the practice where appropriate, from the first lockdown in March 2020. A “covid room” was organised, where GPs WOULD see patients if necessary whilst wearing the correct PPE. This practice has been back up and running as usual from roughly November time, where face to face and telephone appointments could be made weeks in advance!. Furthermore, patients also have the option to use the e-consultation via the website, and you will have a response within 48 hours, so if people say they cannot get an appointment here, I can assure you it is a load of crumbs. I honestly feel if people seen what went on behind the scenes, there would have more respect for GP practices, and the NHS as a whole. This practice is just shy of having 16000 patients, many of which have very complex needs, many elderly and venerable, or even end of life (who would need an URGENT appointment). As stated above CMC have apps weeks in advance, where multiple clinics are available for GP’s, nurses, HCAs, and phlebotomists etc, they even have health/lifestyle coaches, and physiotherapists, including urgent on the day appointments (The GPs call roughly between 100-150 urgent appointments alone daily, this is initially via telephone, and where needed they will bring that patient in that day). Remember reviews on here are not always a true reflection on a individual or a practice. The reviewers don’t tell you they may have been abusive, while conversing with reception staff, they don’t tell you they may of threatened them, been shouting, or swearing, or even requesting a urgent appointment for medication they had forgotten to request (this takes 48 hours, however the majority of patients get their meds 24 hours later if not the same day). If a receptionist asks what the problem is this is to ensure that you are signposted to the correct clinician/health care provider, as some GPs specialise in certain areas. Everyone is provided with the correct training (all be it not a medical degree, but I can tell you doing this job you learn a lot!) to point you in the right direction, as this allows you receive the best care possible in the appropriate time frame. It’s not just because they are wanting to know your business, it’s THEIR JOB, trust me hearing about what’s running down someone’s leg at 8.30am whilst sipping you coffee on a Monday morning is not pleasant!. Thank you for everyone at CMC, you all do a fantastic job!

    Nearly impossible to get through to speak to a receptionist. I dont get enough time with the Doctor they dont seem to care when its concerning my mental illness. It has been my Doctors for 20+ years. I feel as if they can't seem to do anymore to help me. Been waiting to get a cyst removed from behind my ear for 5 years.

    Probably don’t need to review more than the receptionist is absolutely ridiculous… turning people away when they took time off work to get to the appointment, arrive just to see them chatting their life away when there’s so many people still waiting in the queue. Just to be told I’m late? I’ve been waiting the whole time…. Are patient allowed to turn around and say our appointment started 5 minutes late 👋🏻 bye. Not really, and this is definitely not the only example experienced. Sick of this it’s been over 20+ with this place and I’m completely done.

    Disgrace. Especially the clueless and arrogant reception staff and I just can not believe the recent reviewer praising carol the receptionist, ,every complaint on here involves this arrogant rude woman,who is quite obviously out of her depth and the only thing "Amazing" about this obnoxious, rude and arrogant woman is the fact that she's still in a job,despite EVERY Complaint involves her and other reception staff..perhaps the reviewer is a friend?? .Either way,she should not be in a position that requires empathy,understanding and a caring nature,she possesses none of these qualities.Do the doctors or practice manager(practice manager is complete opposite of reception staff,this woman is courteous and caring,professional and listens if you have concerns)bother to read the reviews?? And if they do,why aren't they taking note of patients concerns about the reception??.Every complaint involves the reception staff,especially one individual.When a sick and probably anxious patient calls and the first person they come in contact with is rude,lacking empathy and treats you as an inconvenience and leaves you feeling worse,then I think some serious retraining on basic human kindness and courtesy is badly needed,either that or find a job where contact with patients isn't involved....Chris B H..nice speech,very Boris-esque.But the fact remains that EVERY COMPLAINT IS ABOUT RECEPTION STAFF, FACT!,so your rallying cry bears zero weight in my opinion and yes,you probably are biased and trying to defend fellow health workers, though strictly speaking reception staff are not health workers,they have little health care training and obviously no training in how to deal with,often vulnerable and anxious patients. This is about patients,Chris BH ,not about trying to balance negative reviews with your rallying cry to try and gain some positive reviews for your colleagues.And as for going in and smiling and thanking them for all they do,have you even been face to face or tried to get an appointment on the phone?? You are young,35,hopefully, you are fit and healthy but if you were an older person,with serious health concerns and you came up against the reception staff here you may have a more realistic and honest view.And the doctors here don't come out well either,they must be aware of the awful reception staff..Elizabeth Frost..,my point about the poor educational standards of one of your colleagues irks you.It is a valid and relevant point when nurses are often dealing with complicated even life threatening situations, that they should have a minimum level of educational standards and I'm perfectly entitled to give my views without health care "professionals" doing their best to support each other.So despite your comments I will exercise my right to voice my concerns and the concerns of others whom I have spoken to but don't feel comfortable commenting on here,maybe because of the likes of yourself and other colleagues on here who seem to think we should be grateful for the appalling reception service at Claughton medical centre and "how dare we complain"And your inference that I or others on here giving negative reviews are people who have been abusive or disruptive or are just trouble makers is both insulting and smacks of you trying to turn tables on genuine people voicing their legitimate concerns,as they are entitled to do so without you trying to besmirch their character with your inference that anyone leaving negative reviews is a "wrong 'un" How dare you.!!
