Pheasant Cottage, near Stithians Reservoir: Perfect little cottage, super clean and well equipped. Rooms: 1 bedroom, living room, super well equipped kitchen and a state of the art bathroom with a big window in the roof. Nearby activities: Stithians Reservoir ist only a five minutes foot walk away, so ideal, when you bring your dog along. Safety: Small little neighbourhood, so no safety issues at all. Walkability: You will need a car, to get around. Food & drinks: A pub and a little supermarket are about 3 Kilometers away.

as a lone female on holiday - I couldn't have found myself in a more perfect environment. The Cottage is so lovely everything I needed of the home comforts plus beautifully done.. very romantic for couples. the bed is scrummy . The greeting was wonderful friendly and so informative. Rob and Sarah could not have been more welcoming and approachable. a few little gifts of fresh eggs, milk and biscuits - I needed time for myself to get away from the stress of daily life - I knew they were there if needed, but left me to have my space. I found the Hamlet and surrounding valley and woodland walks to be so beautiful and peaceful that I arrived on the Friday, and didn't feel the need to use my car till the Monday - when I thought I ought to see a bit of Exmoor since coming so far. this is not for the people who want night life ( unless the night sky's - no light pollution - it's fantastic) pubs and shops are a car drive away - so initially take provisions - in a nutshell - I AM DEFINITELY GOING BACK

We had a lovely holiday and enjoyed staying in the Town Barn, Devon however the calls received from the Classic Cottages few days after our return have completely spoilt the experience. I was in an utter shock to be questioned about missing and damaged items. We treated the property with respect like if it was our own. I got very upset when asked about missing fruit bowl, broken blinds and a fridge, tablecloth with pencil colourings on and broken pair of scissors. The scissors were the only thing I was aware that split without applying any force and I believe it was down to wear and tear. My children were colouring on the table and there may have been some small marks which if prominent enough, I would have cleaned myself. This experience caused a lot of unnecessary stress and upset. I was worried about how to prove that the fridge and blinds were in working order when we left and how much we are going to be asked to pay. In the end, we were charged £31.87 for a new tablecloth so considering all items we were questioned about, this is a minor amount. I do believe, the tablecloth could have been cleaned with soapy water as there was no damage done, therefore the charge was unnecessary. I genuinely don't know what happened to the other items but I feel, on this occasion, I was treated unfairly.

This is the second time we have stayed here, and have also stayed in Fern Gully which is next door. The cottage is extremely clean and fully equipped and they allow up to 4 dogs which is quite rare. We have 3 and struggle to find cottages that allow this and that have fully secured gardens. The property is down a very quiet lane but accessible to lovely dog walks, the local shop and pub and Bude is about a 30 min drive. Bill and Caroline are amazing hosts and onhand if you have any questions. We love it there. Safety: Secure gardens for the dogs
