Right from the gate it gives you the feel of the early centuries. So calm and the building lost in the beautiful surrounding nature of greenery, with the old, old graves each having a story to tell...You get a unique feel here at St. Margaret's!

Easily found by Google maps on Parsonage Lane. I visited mainly to photograph the churchyard. There are some great old trees there. Built around 940AD it is the 3rd oldest church in Kent. I parked directly outside the lychgate but wouldn't advise as you may block driveway access of local residents.

Out of the way church back from the road. Beautiful avenue of trees guiding you up to the porch. Drifts of snow drops around the graves interspersed with croci & a few narcissi (Early February 2020). Obscure saint (Saint Marina of Antioch to the Eastern Church). Seemingly original church was partly built from tiles from the local Roman villa. Inside, the church feels & looks old. Beautiful carved Norman font. Lots of atmosphere. The church warden was so very helpful, informative & welcoming.
