Chris is as talented at teaching as he is at blacksmithing and that’s a high bar in both counts. I cannot recommend this day highly enough, I have already booked a return visit and cannot wait for the next session. As a break from the daily grind, it is worth every penny. As a day of learning a new skill, it is worth every penny. You will not regret booking one of these experience days.

Chris is a brilliant teacher, he explaned things so well right through from the safety briefing at the start through every step of the process making our forged steel leaf keyrings 😀 it's an amazing craft to try and i dont think we could have had a better tutor! A days blacksmithing is a truly unique experience I'd recommend to everyone. Chris has a good way of teaching that helps you when it's tricky but let's you get hands on to try everything yourself. He's clearly very talented and you feel like you're getting 1-on-1 time with a genuine expert in his craft. Definitely bring snacks and drinks as it's a long hot day if you're not used to it!

Received a voucher for a full days blacksmithing with Chris as a present. Had a great day and came away impressed with what I'd managed to make (a leaf key ring and a letter opener). Chris's instruction was perfect, step by step demonstration to copy for the first part of the day, with pointers while I was working on my piece. Then for the second piece the steps were explained and Chris just supervised and gave instruction and advice as needed. Really knowledgeable guy and answered all my questions 10/10 would recommend whether you fancy trying your hand at smithing in particular or just enjoy being hands on and making things!

My husband and I did a one day course with Chris. We are hobbyist blacksmiths with a forge in the garden, but have self taught via youtube and wanted Chris to help teach us correctly. From fire management to technique, Chris was hugely patient and knowledgeable. Would totally recommend to anyone wanting to give Blacksmithing a try!
