Chris is nice and friendly, was very flexible with pick up / drop off time. Kayaking down Regent's canal was quite pretty and a fun challenge for a sea kayaker. A few FYIs: 1) Plan on getting in and out quite a few times to get around locks. Ask Chris about best technique for that and make sure you can do it without too much trouble. 2) You get an up close view of mossy canal walls, birds and trees growing over it, it's not a stunning vistas sort of deal. There's convenient cafes and parks for food, coffee and bathrooms. 3) Steering the kayak around ducks, boats, near locks is fun! Best steering technique is to shift grip (so one side of paddle is longer lever). Edging technique is not as effective at least in the tandem. For hard turns use paddle as rudder (keep in mind that angle changes by stern drift not from the bow, opposite of a bike/car). If you plan on paying cash make sure to let him know ahead of time. I recommend cash if coming from international as Paypal/Venmo have more trouble with foreign transactions.
