*Springfield, whoever is in charge of admissions, disgusting way they handled my grandmother’s need for care. Shouldn’t be working in “care”. Have reached out to the home however had no response.

after having worked there for quite some time thinking it was a lovely place to work turn. it did not used to be so bad but thay seem to just keep making worse and worse decisions and i want to help people and make there life better not watch them suffer and i know thats hard in this setting but thay should do more for the residents from the top not the bottom as the staff are super pressurised on an unfair level and you always doing way more than you should with no help or very minimal help. make your own judgment as im sure you will i feel sorry this is true x

I would call this the chocolate works scare village. My dad was there for a few months he was totally bed ridden and was fully dependent on staff. Dad hated it and even threatened to put a pillow over his head. His personal belongings kept going missing for eg. His razors and blades, his 4 wheel walker, his body wash, his dentures. These were never found and no effort was made to find them. These are expensive and I was constantly having to replace his toiletries. He was constantly filthy with stale food all Over him. Many times I would visit he would be wearing another residents clothing. Even though he had loads of clothes of his own. His own clothes were being used on other residents the labels on dads clothes had been cut out. I was walking down the corridor and could see dads t shirts in the clean washing outside another residents room. Dads clothes are very distinctive bright colours so easily recognisable. They didn’t shower him from April till July. The bathroom wasn’t big enough for a shower chair. I asked for him to be showered at another facility but these requests were ignored. The food was terrible dad said. He lost a lot of weight as he wasn’t eating. I was taking food in for him when I could. He was told by staff to stop pressing his buzzer. He was also told to stop using too many pads as they had no room to store them. He was also told to stop snitching to his daughter. He was petrified. I have now moved him to Connaught Court, Fulford. He is a different man and back to his old self. I understand that the chocolate works were short staffed but there is no need to treat my dad that way. He has all his faculties and he knew exactly what was going on. They would leave him for more than an hour after he pressed his buzzer needing a pad change. He wanted to keep his independence by using a urinal bottle with help to my disgust he was told to pee in the pad they were too busy. Sorry I wouldn’t put an animal in there. My dad and I have been through hell the trauma on us both has been horrific. We still suffer with this trauma today . Thank god i moved him. Don’t recommend this place at all

My father is staying here and it’s more like a 5 star hotel than a care home. The decor is tasteful and everything is in keeping with the Art Deco period. The staff are fantastic and show care and respect to all the residents. I am confident that my dad is well looked after and that maintaining quality of life is at the heart of the values of this place.
