Lack of customer care. I live across the road and as a local who passes this place daily, today was the day I needed to get a coat dry cleaned after I spilled sauce over it. I walked in and explained to the woman (short haired, blonde) that I’ve not been to a dry cleaners before, since I’ve never needed anything dry cleaned but thought it would be required in this circumstance with my coat (hoping she would be helpful and advise what’s involved within her services etc). I explained that my coat had sauce spilled down it and I just needed it cleaned. She just instantly said “we can’t guarantee it will come out” and I asked what’s the process and she said she said “it goes in a machine with chemicals and stuff”. I explained that’s fine if for some odd reason it doesn’t come out, maybe she’s just covering her back? However, surely as a dry cleaners you would expect some reassurance or some knowledge from the staff as to how they would best get the stain out!? (It’s a dark green north face coat which some watery Mayo spilled down it, surely it’s not that hard). She didn’t even try to provide some helpful information. I showed her the stain on the coat after she already told me she can’t guarantee anything, and I could probably sponge clean the coat myself if I really wanted but thought I would seek a professional to do it. I’m just so surprised how she didn’t apply any of her skills or knowledge and before I even showed her the stain she tells me she can’t guarantee it would come out, without knowing what she was dealing with in the first place. If she explained the process involved from the start with cleaning the coat and a, by the way we cannot guarantee it will definitely come out, then I may have used the service. However due to her attitude and lack of helpfulness I decided I would take my custom elsewhere. I decided I would find another dry cleaners who is friendly, informative and cares about their service. It’s probably hard to gauge from this review, however her tone and attitude was just rude and she clearly didn’t need the business. As someone who works in the professional service sector in Leeds, this is one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve experienced. Please be more helpful and informative to your customers! Existing and new.
