A very nice place for hiking and spending time with your friends or family as well. We brought our cat to come with us and she seems very excited and enjoying the trip. We had a very relaxing walk through the gunpowder forest and the view was amazing and spectacular! It is very beautiful and recommended to bring some food and drink with you.

Impressive ruins of a gunpowder mill set within peaceful woodland. Following the waterway you'll pass the remains of the boiler house and Victorian steam mills, expense magazine, wharf and a row of millstones. There are information boards all along the trail, and free leaflets with a map of the walk. Following the whole route takes a couple of hours with lots to see on the way. There's only space for a couple of cars at the start of the trail by Lockner Farm Lane, but it's not too long a walk from the village. After rain the paths can be very muddy so bring robust footwear.

Ruined gunpowder mill that has been reclaimed by nature, nice walk through the old site, some of the old concrete structures remain along with various other bits and pieces scattered round the site, there are information boards here and there to explain what the mill used to be like, parking very limited so you may have to park on the surrounding roads and walk down. Wear proper footwear as the ground can be muddy and uneven in places. Overall a good couple of hours to be had or just a nice place for a sit down and picnic if the weather is good
