The facilities at the dojo are amazing but what makes this dojo truly outstanding is its supportive and inclusive atmosphere. You may experience highs and lows on your journey but you will never feel alone. Warning! Training here is seriously addictive! Lawrence (Sensei/ head coach)is a wonderful human being who is great with kids (of all ages).

Friendly and encouraging coaches, very welcoming, fantastic venue and great atmosphere on the classes. Wide range of belt levels within each class too so it’s not too daunting for new starts. I joined the club after 22 years of being away from karate and although I trained in a different style I was accepted into the chikara family right away and felt encouraged with the support shown by the other members and coaches.

What a fantastic environment to train. The venue is first class and the times of the adult classes are beneficial giving you a chance to get home and ready. I recently moved to Chikara having trained at a different club for several years and was made most welcome by all involved. Classes are varied, rewarding and if you put the effort in - exhausting !! It is central in the community and draws on all ages to get involved, having arranged fun days and barbecues for local families. Thoroughly deserves 5 stars. 👍

I took my kids along to Chikara Karate Club around 16 years ago and it's been a huge part of their lives ever since, both physically and mentally. I also train at The Dojo and it really is more than just a karate club. The coaches actually care about you as a person. From a personal perspective, it has been a positive influence on me, both in life and work. In short whether its for you or your kids, you won’t regret it.
