My girlfriend and I stopped by for a bite to eat and were thoroughly impressed with the crêpes we ordered. The menu offers the contemporary flavours common in dessert bars (and some very unique, appealing ones too), but what shines is the quality of the crêpe batter. Their texture makes the eating experience so much better. The cafe is newly opened, so some of the small details haven't quite been ironed out e.g. mismatched cutlery, incomplete decor. But none of this hampers the experience or enjoyment. Without doubt these things will be addressed in time and once they do, this place will be 5*! Our first visit has earned our repeat custom and I look forward to seeing the place grow.

As a person that is well acquainted with crêpes from France, I can easily say that this is the best and most authentic tasting crêpes I’ve had in the UK (yes the UK). The quality of the crêpe is fantastic and the menu offers excellent choices (I had the nutty one, would absolutely recommend). The crêpes are freshly made for each individual, and overall very well done. The staff are absolutely lovely and very kind hearted, and make the experience much more pleasurable. I’d highly recommend this place for anyone looking for delicious crêpes in a cute cafe with a very calming vibe 💕

Really nice place to sit and have crepes. Super friendly lady owning the shop, had a great chat with her and my gf, does AMAZING cakes. Seriously, get the cakes. We’re coming back again next for our new date spot before shopping. Absolutely annihilated the biscoff crepes.

We went here because we love crepes done properly and thought as the shop is actually called crepes and cake that they would be made from scratch. We walked into a rather underwhelming cafe styled room. I appreciate that they’re new but the shop wasn’t as welcoming and again felt more like a cafe than a patisserie/dessert bar! The lady was friendly although, I overheard her lying to a man about a request he had stating she wasn’t the owner and the owner wasn’t on site - just didn’t look good! The cutlery was marked - maybe water marked?? The crepes were served in a timely fashion but were clearly, heated ones meaning…. they were bought in and not freshly cooked on the premises and again, as it’s called crepes and cake, you would think that they would make the best crepes around!!!! Of course my kids loved them as they were doused in lots of Nutella but the fact is, they were pre made and simply reheated! Cakes on the counter looked nice but there was a heap of pan au chocolates wrapped in plastic again, these were like what you get from Tesco or Costco in a multipack of individually wrapped pain au chocolates. Then there’s the price - they clearly believe they are on par with the dessert bar giants such as rasams etc!!! Maybe the owners think that they can charge a premium because they’re on ecclesall road, as we were charged £32 for four crepes one was plain, 2 waters one small coffee and a rubicon. I am actually fuming about it! Probably cost her £8 for our food - what a return she’s getting!!! I love leaving positive reviews for independent businesses but what about us customers and our hard earned cash which in this economic climate, is as precious in our pockets than ever! Works both ways!!! Be fair/realistic and get your prices right.
