So the doorbell rings and I make my way to the door. To get to the door I have two flights of stairs to get down. Within 10 seconds the doorbell rings again, I get to the door and open it to find two men dressed in what I would say were builders clothes. I apologise that it takes me time to get down two flights of stairs due to osteoarthritis in my knees. The gentlemen say they are working on behalf of Cheltenham Borough Homes and that they have to survey my front door and take photographs of my door. Apparently Cheltenham Borough homes have a window and door replacement scheme going on because of the Grenfell tragedy. I tried to explain to them that replacing the door would not stop a fire if it happened as the dividing wall is nothing more than a stud wall. i allowed them to take a photo of my door and they were on their way. I tried to speak to Cheltenham Borough Homes however the only person that could deal with it was not at his desk and there was nobody else that could deal with it. Cheltenham Borough Homes I would just like to say that under no circumstances will I permit your chosen contractors ( calibre Doors) to do any work on my property.
