Appointment system and phones are awful. No privacy at reception so everyone can hear about your ailments. Not one Dr in there actually cares about their patients and you are panned off to a "specialist" (who are equally uncaring) or given painkillers or antidepressants as a "cure". Mostly printed out on a prescription slip before you have sat down. Awful practice but I suspect the majority are just the same these days. The NHS is dead.

I have been a patient here since Covid times, so don't know what it was like before. My experience has been mostly positive, the health care assistants are fantastic at doing blood tests to the point I feel so relaxed and comfortable as other places struggle to access my veins. Some of the doctors are fantastic, Dr Owen in particular is very attentive and thorough. She listens and is kind. Others can be a bit rushed and not keen on doing anything. I have found the receptionists to be mostly very helpful, the only difficult part is being able to book an appointment! Since the online appointment booking has come back I can book an appointment for 2 weeks away. But it's difficult still to get a more urgent appointment, as when you ring in the morning you are often number 50 in the queue. At other gp surgeries I've been at they have allowed patients to log on the website from 7am to book same day appointments, so it would be incredibly helpful if Chelmer Medical Partnership did the same.

Today and in recent weeks have had a number of appointments with the newer and younger Doctors at Tennyson House. Just what the doctor ordered! The newer doctors at Tennyson House have been like a breath of fresh air to the Surgery. They have shown much empathy and patience, and have been very helpful to me and as such I would like to thank them. Even the appointments system seems to be starting to improve although I can only speak from my own perspective.

A disaster of a Surgery - I called in to see a doctor about my knees as I can occasionally feel my bones rubbing and it could be an early sign of Arthritis. Had to call in 7:30AM so that your first in the phone que in the morning when the surgery opens at 8:00AM to book a doctor. Got told I will get a phone call from the doctor for diagnosis. HOW DOES A DOCTOR DIAGNOSIS if I am ARTHRITIS OVER THE PHONE ?!?!, when I asked them this question the receptionist got really shytty over the phone and Hung up. Anyways It’s been few weeks still waiting for a phone call from the doctor! Absolute joke. No clear management, no training. Funny part is Dr Ahmed ( one of the doctors at this facility) visits my off licence shop every other day.

** STAY AWAY ** Awful Surgery in whole of Chelmsford, maybe even the whole of UK. My dad was suffering from really bad chest infections and was unable to move from his bed. I called the surgery to arrange a doctor to attend a home visit. Got told by the rude receptionist that as my dad is not on their home visit register they cannot send a doctor out to my dads house. I asked them how would I register my dad on the home visit register as he is unable to get up from the bed to drink water. Got simply told to bring him in to the surgery. At this point I lost my calm and asked if they could provide me with a crane, so I can’t lift his whole bed and bring him to the surgery. At this point the receptionist passed my call over the supervisor, who was even more rude, kept insisting that I bring my dad into the surgery as he visit the surgery before. Clown of a Surgery!! I didn’t wanted to call the AandE as this is not life threatening, but left with no option I called AandE, two young ladies turned up and, they diagnosed him and found my dad not only had a bad lung infection, he has hernia due to the stressful coughs. They have now taken him away and I am now sitting in AandE. Like I said, STAY AWAY FROM THIS AWFUL PLACE, your life could be in danger and they wouldn’t batter a eyelid. Don’t know how these people sleep at night!!! Doesn’t even deserve one star!

The doctors reception and phone lines are simply a nightmare. You either have to listen to the computer generated message and get told the line is full and they cut you off or they are closed for lunch. The receptionist are rude and uncaring and need more training when it comes to public communication and understanding individual needs. Also when someone is suicidal or depressed it takes alot for them to call in the first place, to then be computer told that lines are full call back later and the phone gets put down can be the last straw and the cause for families to loose loved ones. Even if they were number 100 in the que at least they know they are going to get to speak to someone. On a good note Dr Armed is amazing and Dr Roberts was also xx
