Whilst the surveyor was pleasant enough the report was a bit padded for a building survey which you generally purchase for its detail. I had to ask for rough costings to gauge how serious issues might be which when you pay £750 quid you hope someone else will highlight for you given the company’s reputation. I used a local surveyor for a previous offer on a different property and got a short but punchy report that indicated where issues lay and potential areas to renegotiate with the buyer. In this instance I think a homebuyers would have done the job nicely possibly better but was recommended a building survey due to property age c 1900 when I phoned up. So based on my experience I probably wouldn’t use them again which given the number of previous positive reviews here left me a little disapointed in the service.

Had a very positive experience using these surveyors. The service was very personal and positive. The type of the survey they did for us (home movers report) was comprehensive, with a lot of useful information, advise and tips. The person who did the survey was very happy to answer all our questions directly. I would recommend using Charter-Reid for your house survey
