***AVOID*** I put my house up for sale through charters. They gave a good pitch and said the right words. Within a week an offer was made, a ridiculously low offer but I was advised strongly to take it as the market was so risky. I said I’d only take the offer if the buyers had a mortgage. Again I was advised they have a water tight mortgage they are a serious buyer. So I accepted. I was told to instruct solicitors asap to get the ball rolling, Which I did. Then silence. More silence. Then when I chased up the sale of my house I was told the buyer was arranging a survey don’t worry it’s all going smoothly..so I waited and waited. Then I got a phone call saying that they buyer could not get a mortgage and I was told to sit tight as they were attempting to get a bridging lone. More silence I chased up constantly and was given excuses or passed to different departments until I was told actually the buyer is pulling out as they don’t have the funds. In turn this cost me £1000 in abortive legal fees. There was no apology and the manner I was spoken to was dismissive and rude. Awful firm. Avoid AVOID AVOID
