My review is only as a member who goes to use the gym and pools about 3-4 times per week: there are parts and places that are getting a bit tired and certain things need replacing/updating but as far as a gym goes, you're not going to get any better than Champs. The main gym is small, yes, but it has everything you need. Plus, there are various other workout rooms, a boxing room, Pelaton room, many classes, outdoor facilities, yoga/meditation room and various indoor and outdoor pools. I always leave here feeling very relaxed and happy and consider my membership my monthly health & wellbeing spend - worth every penny.

Went and had a lovely dinner with some friends and stayed a night, all the staff we spoke to were so incredibly kind and helpful to us, our waiter Charlie took care of us very well, and was immensely patient with ,made sure we were taken care of, was very attentive, and made us feel welcome. The grounds were lovely and well kept, with some excellent views, and our rooms were clean and tidy when we arrived, with no issues whatsoever. Would definitely recommend the place to others and will be going again soon.

Ok… so there are lots of positive points, but improvement needed. I have visited Champneys many times due to vitality discount - I would not visit at a full price, as it’s just not worth it. Let’s start with the positives: - The welcome bag on arrival is a lovely touch and you get to keep the flip flops. - The relaxation room is gorgeous with the water beds. - The hydrotherapy pool is nice and warm. - The treatments are luxurious, couldn’t fault them. - Tring is a beautiful location. What’s not so good.. - Dirty robes - Lack of towels around the spa and having to chase this including in the changing rooms!! - Quality of food is poor (for lunch). I have been impressed with the dinners. - No tour on arrival. If I hadn’t been familiar with the spa I would have no idea where to go! - Need for refurbishment around some areas of the spa, including the rooms and female changing rooms!

I was super excited to spend my 4 year anniversary at champneys tring with my partner, however we were severely disappointed. The lunch we received was cold, and the vegetables we were served were cold and crunchy and completely bland, they tasted like something I would buy from a Tesco supermarket in the frozen section.) Further to this, we were served a rotten strawberry. When staff were made aware of this we were completely dismissed and ignored. The place is rundown with cracks in the ceiling, as well as mould and rust growing everywhere. Furthermore, the massage my partner received was far from relaxing and has ended up with him suffering distress for the past few days. At the end of the stay I made the receptionist aware of the experience we had, instead of acknowledging the experience she just referred me to another team and completely ignored me. All in all we were utterly dissatisfied with the experience and saddened by the lack of understanding by staff.
