I usually go to Champneys Tring which is very nice, but I found Springs much more relaxing and loved every minute. The manager (I wish I took note of his name, such a lovely man) on the front desk resolve a slight problem effortlessly. I highly recommend this resort and will be going back very soon

Location is lovely ,lots of parking spaces ,on entering waited at front desk no one to greet us .. but came out after 5mins or so , and apologised ..we were given flip flops to keep and a dressing gown , and then a little tour and told about the wrist fobs that open the lockers , into the swimming pool noticed its clean lots of available loungers , sauna was clean and hot ,jacuzzi part of the pool.. the hydro pool is an absolute must!! was amazing and did the power of good to the old bones .... this is not a swimming pool ,it has multi jets at different levels , as it was a hot day we ventured out into the grounds ....plenty of loungers, and tables and chairs and deck chairs for your usage .. lunch was lovely and dessert was gorgeous .. all in all a lovely day ...my only gripe would be standing in a queue waiting to hand our gowns in .. no signage to assist you , while staff were chatting and booking returning guests, it wouldn't of hurt to just say please leave gowns in that area ? Would of saved 20 mins of just standing there ....

No air con in rooms and no showers around pool. Also nothing to do in evening. Nice place but very over priced.

Attended a day spa with a friend using the Champneys £99 offer. Signposted well and easy to find. The drive into the car park had open fields either side and looked peaceful. The spa package included the use of a robe for the day (returned on check out), a complimentary spa bag and flip flops to take home. Also a light buffet breakfast, lunch, use of all of the facilities (pool, hydrotherapy, sauna, steam room, showers, gym and classes) and use of the spa treatments on offer. Shampoo, shower gel and conditioner all provided. Lockers now use a magnetic wrist band but the bands are not numbered so you need to remember the locker number! Previously used this offer a few years ago which was better value for money. The cost then for a half price offer ranged from £49-£59. The main changes were a smaller buffet selection for breakfast. This included small dry pieces of a bagel with tiny pieces of smoked salmon, not appetising as too dry. A selection of berries, fruit and melon, yoghurt compote, energy balls, croissants, apple and orange juices, tea, coffee, herbal teas. There were no teaspoons to make the hot drinks nor for the yoghurt compotes. Had to ask and was told they were looking to locate some teaspoons...very odd! Extra coffees and cakes can be purchased from the Cafe. Previously all fitness classes were included in the offer however now all fitness classes were paid sessions (30, 45 or 60 min sessions) except for aqua fit, walking and use of the gym. I was not impressed hearing this because this isn't made clear on the website or the offer at the time of booking. Lunch previously was a huge buffet with many options covering meats, chicken, fish, vegetarian and vegan including having a chef preparing omelettes or stir fries. Now it's table service with a 3 course meal from a limited menu. Disappointing. I had mushroom soup, vegan poke bowl (which was very vinegary) and fruit salad with mango mousse. The food was okay at best and the service in the restaurant poor. The spa treatment offers and rooms were lovely. Clarins had an offer with a free gift which was good value. Spa staff accommodated us for treatments and moved our lunch slot to enable us to have the treatments. Greatful for that. Pool, jacuzzi, hydrotherapy, steam room and sauna area were nice and spotlessly clean. Whilst there they tested the water in the pool and jacuzzi for safety which was good to see. Lots of places to rest and lounge about and just read a book to switch off. Some seating areas outside. I know all companies are trying to make up their shortfalls from lockdowns however charging the customer more for the spa day with a mediocre breakfast, lunch and charging for the majority of fitness classes I feel isn't good enough. Going to a bespoke spa is a real treat and a bit of luxury. Don't think Champneys Springs quite hit the mark as it has done in previous years. Will be looking at other spas in the future such as Ragdale Hall, Eden Hall Spa. Noteworthy details: - Small buffet breakfast on arrival - 3 course lunch which is table service, drinks cost extra. Lunch slot is automatically booked. - Pay for the majority of fitness classes - Spa offers promoted on the day, book straightaway otherwise slots get taken

I recently had the opportunity to stay at Champney's Springs Spa & Hotel from Wednesday, 31st May to Friday, 2nd June, and unfortunately, my experience fell far short of expectations. While there were a few positive aspects, such as the pool facilities and the room, the overall quality of the stay was sub-par, leaving me deeply dissatisfied. To begin with, the gym facilities were unexpectedly closed without any prior notification. It was disappointing not to receive an email or a phone call informing me about the closure, as I had planned to utilize the gym during my stay. Furthermore, the reduced class schedule due to the closure limited the available activities, adding to the disappointment. The meals provided during my stay were consistently underwhelming. Despite paying for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the quality of the food fell short of what one would expect from a reputed spa and hotel. However, the evening meal on Thursday was particularly appalling. The service was slow and inattentive, and the food itself was of extremely poor quality. The dessert was barely edible, and the main course was unappealing both in taste and presentation. Regrettably, my disappointment extended to the customer service experience as well. When I voiced my concerns during the checkout process, the initial staff member I spoke to displayed a lack of empathy and failed to offer any apology for the issues I encountered. It was only after requesting to speak with the floor manager that I received an apology, although it was accompanied by excuses rather than a genuine willingness to address the problems. Considering the reputation of Champney's Springs, I had expected a superior level of service, attention to detail, and culinary excellence. Unfortunately, these expectations were not met, resulting in a significant negative impact on my overall experience. In conclusion, my stay at Champney's Springs Spa & Hotel was a disappointment. The lack of communication regarding the gym closure, the unsatisfactory quality of meals, and the indifferent customer service all contributed to a sub-par experience. I hope that the management takes these concerns seriously and implements the necessary improvements to ensure a better experience for future guests.
