Burds Of Prey
Blocked the public pavement within the inch park on multiple occasions leaving those with disabilities to fend for themselves on the road. Absolute joke, if someone wants to build themselves a house then it shouldn't in any way interfere with a public park. They've also damaged the pavement driving there vehicles up and down it, it didn't occur to them to fix it after or put down boards in the first place. A complaint to the council has been submitted.

Called 3 or 4 times, left details, was assured the relevant person would return my call and it never happened. Wouldn't waste my time with them again.

Excellent customer service. Recently removed asbestos from a commercial building. Pricing was very competitive and nothing too much trouble. Thank you Chamic.

A rep from Chamic came to assess the ceiling under our stairs, which contained chrysotile (the less dangerous asbestos found in old artex). We were later provided with a quote to have the artex completely removed from our home and the air quality tested after. After the workers assigned to the job showed up and began hacking away at the ceiling under our stairs, they told us that the plaster was in the wood supporting the stairs and they could not continue after having completed the first four steps. (A joiner has since told us that the wood with the artex on it does not support the stairs and it just a frontal plate, and could have been removed.) The workers told us that they would just paint over what remained with special asbestos sealant paint. They also replaced a light fixture in the ceiling, which the initial rep insisted was not safe for us to do. The workers were very nice, but on a number of occasions they asked why we didn't just hire a joiner to do the job as it would have "saved us a lot of money," and it wasn't really a hazard. Air quality was tested, and everyone cleared out. The ceiling looks an absolute mess. It looks like they put up black duct tape to cover holes and painted over it (looks awful!). The layer of paint they did apply is so thin, you can see the wood beneath. They left huge cracks in the wooden frame supporting the ceiling, and I'm still sweeping bits of the "hazardous" ceiling rubble out of our carpet beneath. They also got the white sealant paint all over another light fixture hanging on a nearby wall and broke the beading strip at the bottom of the stairs. To top it off, the invoice we were sent after the work was for the full price they quoted us, for *removing* all of the plaster. To their credit, they did slightly reduce the price after we complained that the invoice did not reflect the work they actually ended up carrying out, but it was still an exorbitant amount of money to pay for a shoddy, thin layer of paint and a, now, terrible looking stairwell that needs a LOT more work. The finally issue was that they didn't send us the asbestos air quality report for ages. I had to email and ask for it a number of times before we finally got it back. The rep didn't even have to decency to respond to my query, but just CC'd me on an email directed at another person who was meant to send it to me. I would never go with this company again. I'm not sure if there is a good asbestos removal company out there, but Chamic certainly is not a company I would recommend.
