My company has been using CEM Bookkeeping for all my clients payrolls and CIS requirements. Some of these are very complex impacting ccj orders, pensions, bik etc I have total confidence in Karen’s ability to process information with 100% accuracy, I have never had to query any info received. CEM Bookkeeping Limited was in charge of our bookkeeping from September 2021 for a period of 6 months. During this time, there were an untold number of errors entered into our software. To date, we are still finding errors. CEM Bookkeeping Limited was totally unfamiliar with the VAT reverse charge, so we had to instruct them on the procedure. Some documentation was entered into the software and was subsequently lost and never returned to us despite being hand-delivered--even documents sent via Dropbox were not entered. Invoices that were paid were entered as UNPAID despite being stamped with a payment date stamp and, therefore, the software showed the invoices as unpaid. In addition, end-of-month statements did not tie up with the supplier entries in the software, and we had to correct these errors ourselves despite having sent several emails pointing out these errors. The errors were never corrected by CEM Bookkeeping Limited. In our opinion, CEM Bookkeeping Limited does not understand the concept of accurate bookkeeping and were in way over their head when it came to the simplest tasks. We filed a complaint with The Institute of Certified Bookkeepers (ICB) and felt their investigation to be lacking in customer satisfaction.
