Meant to be a luxury health “club”, but going rapidly down hill. At peak times the gym/pool is constantly packed full of kids from the local school who are play-fighting and messing around as well as people who are only signed up to the cheap promotions deals they have running at the time. This makes sessions a miserly for full-time members. Additionally there are, at present, hardly any plates in the main gym, making free weight exercises impossible. The most expensive gym in York doesn’t have any weights! I’ve filled out internal feedback reviews before writing this, but have been completely ignored. On the odd occasion in the past when my feedback was responded to, the response was unhelpful and rude.

Solid 4 star mostly thanks to sauna and pool temperature as in other places usually it's colder. Low due to price options, I only want to use sauna and pool but need to pay for gym or other things that I don't need. Membership is great if you want to and have time to stay there all the time and use everything.

Overall experience has not been good. We came for the day on a Sunday which we were met with very rude staff who just ignored us whilst still talking to each other not about work things may I add. Once we got into the club it was fine and we enjoyed our experience. We decided that we would want to join. I spoke to a staff member who sent me all details over email. I was shocked to find how much it would cost for the joining fee. £307 they wanted upfront before I could join with my partner but only a month ago a family member of mine only had to pay £130 upfront for 2 adults and 1 child to join. Overall staff are not very professional and the joining fee is very over priced.

Nice gym and great facilities... But lack of communication and care from management is shocking. Been chasing a refund for over 3+ weeks and still not been received despite being told 5-10 working days.

Overall positive experience, lovely staff. Classes are great especially yoga and spinning although yoga can sometimes be difficult to book, would also be nice to see some more weekend classes too. Same to be said for tennis courts which can be tricky to book unless you're booking over a week in advance, having said this if you're an early bird, we have never had a problem getting a court 7-8am. Swimming pool great, can get a little crowded at peak times but not too busy to not be able to do lengths - looking forward to outdoor pool opening. Really can't speak for the gym facilities as other than occasionally jumping on a machine before a class it's not my primary reason for going to David Lloyd. The cafe menu is disappointing, would be nice to stop and have tea if at the gym in the evening however considering you're in the gym it is predominately a burger and pizza menu... not really conducive for a healthy lifestyle. App is also clunky and crashes regularly needs some serious bug fixing.
