FAQ

How do you ensure the health and well-being of the pets in your adoption program?

We have a team of trained veterinarians who perform regular check-ups and provide necessary medical treatment for all pets in our adoption program. We also provide proper nutrition, exercise, and socialization to ensure the physical and mental well-being of our pets.

What is the adoption process?

Our adoption process involves filling out an application, meeting with an adoption counselor to discuss the adoption, and completing a home visit. Once the adoption is approved, we require an adoption fee and provide all necessary paperwork for the adopter.

What kind of support and resources do you provide to new pet owners?

We provide a range of support and resources to new pet owners, including a comprehensive adoption pack with information on pet care, behavior, and health. We also offer post-adoption counseling, training classes, and a network of experienced volunteers who can provide guidance and support as needed.

What is your policy on returning adopted pets?

We have a policy that allows adopters to return their pets if they are unable to provide proper care for any reason. We work with the adopter to find a suitable solution for the pet, which may include finding a new home or providing temporary care until a permanent solution is found.

Can you provide references or testimonials from satisfied adopters?

Yes, we have a number of satisfied adopters who have provided testimonials and references that we are happy to share. We also have a presence on social media where adopters can share their experiences and connect with others in the community.

We recently adopted a cat and we couldn’t have been happier with the service that Cats Protection gave us. They were kind, helpful and made the whole process really easy, especially as we have a young family. Thank you Sarah C particularly for introducing us to our lovely cat and for your invaluable advice and support. Would highly recommend

Since covid they won't let you browse just to look at the cats unless you're serious about an adoption on the day. Takes the fun and spontaneity out of it completely.

I cannot praise the people here at Cats Protection enough. They are the most loveliest, kindest and compassionate people I have come across in the Cats Protection. They really care about the cats and ensuring whomever is adopted into the best family for that cat. They were patient, friendly, informative and so helpful during our first visit to meet a cat I had called up in advance about. Of course we fell in love with him and decided we had to bring him home. On our second visit to bring him home, the staff were just as lovely and helpful as on our first visit. A shout out to Joe, who took us around on our first visit, and Hannah who I spoke with on the phone, they were both just so lovely and helpful. Adopting a cat is really the best thing you can do if you are looking to add a fluffy friend to your family, and it’s a great honour to support a charity that does such good work as the Cats Protection does.
