FAQ
How do you ensure the health and well-being of the pets in your adoption program?
At Cats Protection Mitcham Homing Centre, we prioritize the health and well-being of all the pets in our adoption program. We have a team of trained staff and volunteers who provide daily care, including feeding, grooming, and exercise, as well as monitoring their health and behavior. We also work with local veterinarians to ensure all pets are up-to-date on vaccinations and receive any necessary medical treatment. Before adoption, all our pets undergo a thorough health check to ensure they are in good health and ready for their new home. What is the adoption process?
Our adoption process begins with an application that potential adopters fill out. Once we receive the application, our adoption team reviews it and contacts the applicant to discuss their preferences, lifestyle, and any other relevant information. We then match the applicant with a suitable pet and arrange for a meet-and-greet. If the adoption is successful, we go through an adoption contract and provide advice and support to the new pet owner. What kind of support and resources do you provide to new pet owners?
We provide ongoing support and resources to new pet owners to ensure they have everything they need to provide a happy and healthy home for their new pet. This includes advice on nutrition, behavior, training, and health care. We also offer post-adoption support with any questions or concerns that may arise. In addition, we have a range of resources available on our website, including articles and videos on pet care. What is your policy on returning adopted pets?
We understand that sometimes circumstances change, and a pet may need to be returned to us. Our policy is to always take our adopted pets back and find them a new home. We ask that the adopter contacts us as soon as possible to discuss the situation and arrange for the return of the pet. We do have some guidelines around returning pets, such as ensuring they are in good health and have not been mistreated. Can you provide references or testimonials from satisfied adopters?
Yes, we have a range of references and testimonials from satisfied adopters. These can be found on our website, and we are also happy to provide references upon request. We take pride in the work we do and are committed to finding the best possible homes for all our pets.Reviews

DISCLAIMER: I did not adopt any cat from them. I did not buy any food from them. I am writing this review to describe a very wholesome interaction. The food I often buy for my cat comes with different types of meat ranging from chicken and beef all the way to salmon and tuna in a single box. My cat seemed to like most of the food but wouldn't touch some of it like whole shrimp. At first, I was throwing away what she didn't like, but I felt really bad doing it as I knew there are cats out there that could enjoy the food. At one point, I was about to throw away another batch of food when an idea came to me: 'why not try to find a place that will take the food as a donation?'. After searching for some time, I found this place on google maps. I looked at the reviews for a bit, liked what I saw and decided to give them a call. A robot answered and after pressing the needed buttons, I was waiting for a worker to pick up. It was almost closing time, so after waiting for about 30 seconds, the robot told me to send a voicemail as nobody was available at this time. I sent a voicemail with every detail I wrote above in this review and waited. The next morning around 10:00AM, I received a call and after a few minutes of chatting, during of which I was told that I could come as soon as possible to donate the food, I got ready and left my flat. Upon arriving at Cats Protection - Mitcham, I was greeted in a friendly manner and even though I wasn't there to look for a cat to adopt, the worker in charge showed me around and talked to me about the cats. The cats had plenty of water, food, toys and even cat trees to play around in. Besides the warm environment they were kept in, they also had plenty of extra blankets to sleep on. Throughout my visit, I was treated very well and was even allowed to sit down inside while waiting for a cab to take me back home. Before I left to get in the cab, I was told I could come again to donate more food whenever I could. I left the place with a smile on my face both due to the experience I've had but also because I had done something good. Even though I didn't adopt a cat from them myself, based on my experience donating the food and the reviews I've seen, I would highly recommend for you to check this place out if you're looking to bring a new furry friend into your life.
