Be very weary!! I took my Panasonic VXF1 camcorder in for repair and got messed around from start to finish. (The LCD screen displayed upside down when opened). I paid £10 for them to send the camera to their “repair specialists” and diagnose the problem. 2 weeks went by and I hadn’t received a quote so I called them to find out that the “repair specialists” had in fact lost my camera but had now found it and will be in touch soon with a quote to repair… Another week went by without hearing anything so I chased them again to be told the camera is a write off as the whole board needed replacing which was going to cost over £500. This was before Camera Box added their own fees. The manager was however quick to try and sell me a new one they had in store… I declined and asked for my camera to be sent back to the store and I would collect as soon as. Another week went by and I was again chasing to find out the “repair specialists” hadn’t even sent the camera back to the store. I have since collected the camera and taken it to Skears in Northampton. They diagnosed the problem in store and quoted me £180 for a new LCD hinge. So, not a write off, board doesn’t need replacing and not a +£500 repair bill! Whether this was Camera Box fault or not, they use these “repair specialists” who are clearly not very good at what they do and clearly cannot be trusted.
