Waiting on my daughters power wheelchair for months, was told it was booked in for handover in June when I called to double check the date I was told it hadn’t been booked for June and would now likely be July, in the meantime she’s stuck with a cushion that doesn’t even fit her manual wheelchair correctly as the correct cushion will be arriving with the powerchair. Such a disappointment given that she is only 6 and was excited to get her new powerchair this month.

My disabled mums GP made a referral to this company for her to have a new wheelchair last March. After a few weeks they brought the wrong wheelchair & couldn’t leave it as it dIdn’t meet her needs. After that I phoned every week to get an update. For weeks & weeks I was lied to & given the run around. Until they called me to tell me Mums chair was coming in the following week & wasn’t that wonderful. My reply was “so every week when I have spoken to you about this wheelchair you have lied to me.” The lady I spoke to every week replied “yes, sorry about that”. I was furious & made a complaint to her line manager. Who needed a week to investigate. She did come back with an apology & a promise that the lady in question would receive full training to make sure she always give accurate information. Also a new timescale was given for the compilation & delivery of the wheelchair. That date came & went so I complained to the complaint investigators line manager. His response was so uncaring it was laughable. He gave me a new timescale. On this Monday my mum had a phone call to say her chair would be delivered today. Today they phoned to say my Mum wasn’t eligible for a NHS wheelchair. No further explanation. They said they would call me to explain, which they did not. I phoned them & spoke to a very kind gentleman John, who took the time to explain to me that they had made a mistake when they accepted the referral, last March. That because my Mum live in a residential facility that she isn’t eligible for a NHS wheelchair. So for 5 months I have been lied to & given the run around. AJM Healthcare Group do not deserve to be a trading company. They lack ethics & empathy. Their clerical error as resulted in months of distress for my 88year old, stroke survivor mother. They should be ashamed of the way they conduct themselves. They is no excuse for the way they have treated my mother and they couldn’t care less.

Very unhappy to hear that the gentleman I support will not be able to have his chair fixed anymore, this is a serve risk and definitely a safeguarding issue. The reasons behind this I do not agree with and should definitely be more options put in place other than just we shall no longer fix the problem.

Absolutely the worst service in the country, apparently if your son has spinabifida and hydrocephalus he's not entitled. Even though my son needs aids to walk short distances, god forbid cutting there bonuses

I'm sorry for the few lovely people who still work there under that type of management.

My housemate has been trying to get a chair that fits for three years. Each interaction is painful. They don't listen to her as a wheelchair user and keep bringing the wrong chair with the wrong components. They're still not listening to her. It's awful seeing her in pain when she doesn't need to be. She has unnecessary pressure sores. The not listening, the mis-measurement, the cheap canisters that affect the tread. The tires going on backwards. The cheapest side-guards that give pressure sores. The cushion that they have had to send back three times with three months turnaround each time because they don't listen to service users. Their insistence that they dump the redundant chair at her house cos they don't anticipate having to return it back to the facility. Three years and she still doesn't have a complete chair! This is the worst parts of all the fears of privatisation encroaching on the NHS coming to pass. Please listen to wheelchair users when they say something doesn't fit. Hire some disabled people so you're working from a place of lived experience.
