FAQ

What age groups do your skating instructors work with?

Our skating instructors work with a wide range of age groups, from young children to adults. We have programs tailored specifically to each age group, so everyone can find the right fit for them.

What is the student-to-instructor ratio in your classes?

We strive to maintain a low student-to-instructor ratio, with typically no more than 8-10 students per instructor in our group classes. This ensures that each student receives individual attention and can progress at their own pace.

How do you assess the progress of students in your skating programs?

We use a combination of methods to assess student progress, including regular evaluations from instructors, skill tests, and opportunities for students to showcase their skills in shows and competitions.

Do you offer beginner training programs for those new to ice skating?

Yes, we offer beginner training programs for those who are new to ice skating. Our beginner programs focus on basic skills and safety, and are designed to help students feel comfortable and confident on the ice.

How often and for how long are ice skating sessions available to members?

We offer ice skating sessions to our members on a regular basis, with sessions typically lasting 1-2 hours. The frequency of sessions varies depending on the time of year and demand, but we strive to provide ample opportunities for our members to skate.

At last, after decades of wilderness, Cambridge has its own Ice Rink (thanks to years of efforts of Bill Harris and others). It has everything a UK ice rink needs - the ice, the equipment rental, the snacks bar, and the small amount of spectator seating. It has paid 'free skating' at certain times (read their website), and paid 'learn to' sessions, it has ice hockey teams (from children to University, to rec league) - but the club is only building up, and not in any if the EIHA leagues (as are Peterborough, Chelmsford, or MK). It will take time, but it's already exciting to come watch rec/Uni teams matches (free entry)
