Having been an on-and-off singer-songwriter for a few decades (solely for my own entertainment) and with my interest rekindled during lockdown, I decided, towards the end of 2021, that I’d try professional singing lessons. This was my first time singing in front of a stranger but right from the initial warm welcome, I felt little if any embarrassment singing for Adam. He is a most engaging teacher with lots of personality and whilst he is highly professional and very technically knowledgeable, equally important are his kindness, humility and unfaltering encouragement. Having a good rapport with any teacher is conducive to effective learning and Adam’s mix of technical and interpersonal skills is key to building self-confidence and to improving vocal technique. So whether you need to develop your talent for pleasure or for your profession – or if you simply just want to give it a go – then consider singing along with Adam Smith; I’m sure you’ll enjoy it. … and the cost is very reasonable too! I have been a singing student of Adam for around 3 years. I had been playing guitar for some time, and decided to learn how to sing. When I first started lessons I was really nervous, but Adam made me feel very comfortable, and he built up my confidence. I quickly discovered that singing is not merely being able to hit the right notes, but involves many techniques, including mouth shape, breathing and posture etc. Adam is very passionate about his teaching and takes time to explain the techniques in detail, and is very inspirational.
