Unprofessional. This is about the clinic and not the doctor, who was lovely. I’m genuinely upset over the experience I had with the front desk staff when paying for the procedure. Firstly the lady, to my question of what is ‘histology’ for £450 on my invoice replied ‘it’s what the did in there, it’s what they used’ (sorry??) After asking me to check my banking whether money has left my account upon payment, I confirmed it has and was told all is in order and I may go. I walked perhaps 2 meters outside the clinic when I get a call back to return since she cannot see a confirmation on her computer that the payment went through. I come back. She calls the finance department while I sit down and wait as if I was trying to run away with stolen merchandise. The finance department confirms that indeed the payment has been received. I’m told I may go, again. This time I walk perhaps 5 meters outside the clinic when I get a call again that she has charged me an incorrect amount and I must come back to pay additional money. Which I come back for the second time and do without problem. Meanwhile as this back and forth desk payment fiasco is going on 4-5 other members of staff are around the desk, perched up like birds on a fence, just watching, not providing any consolation to myself for my trouble nor assistance to the lady struggling to process my payment. At the end as I leave for the door for the THIRD time, some other lady says ‘sorry about that’ in an unfortunately futile attempt to better my experience at this point. Perhaps if I was spending £10 000 instead of £1000 I’d be granted some respect and customer service rather than being treated like a theft suspect. Very poor service in a clinic which hides behind the smoke and mirrors of a great location.

Dr Dominic Yue, my consultant, was outstanding; really reassuring. He explained things very clearly. It was easy to understood the monitoring I need to do and what warning signs I should look out for. The whole experience was admirable and professional. And he was kind - so important in a good doctor! A very good experience! I should add that what happened before and after my appointment was the icing on the cake. I was recently out of hospital and still feeling unwell (from something unrelated). Four hours travel that morning proved too much. I felt terrible. It was more than 2 hours before the appointment. The staff were beyond kind. Dr Yue’s secretary confirmed I could come early. The desk staff found me somewhere to lie down. The surgical staff checked out that I was generally ok. They offered me drinks, saw that I would be ready for my appointment. And they all celebrated with me when I didn’t have to have a biopsy. Who could ask for more?

Dr Dominic is amazing, really good experience with him as usual. However, I did have an issue with reception. Upon trying to pay I was told I should pay cash as the “ card machine was not working”. The lady then took my card, after having to explain that I did not have cash, and attempted to insert my card details (including my CCV) into a computer which I could not see. It did not work, so finally she pulled out the card machine which mysteriously started working again. Mine you there were 4 different card machines. I understand that some business want to avoid paying transaction fees to banks, but this is very inconvenient for me and it’s a waste of my time. Also a smile and manners are appreciated when dealing with customers.

I had constructive surgery done to remove a small scar. The surgery was fine, but during post-surgery treatment, the surgeon injected too much steroids into the healing wound. This caused permanent indentation and has now left me with a new visible scar. I now have to look elsewhere for further treatment. EDIT: The costs and time to correct the new visible scar so far is higher than the cost of the initial surgery at Cadogan Clinic.
