Came in today seeking an unscheduled eye test. The team were able to fit me in without a fuss. First class customer service and invaluable advice and support throughout. Have always looked to go to the big chain opticians but based on the level of customer care here I think I'll use this place instead. Many thanks 🙏

Fantastic service, really lovely staff and a well-chosen and extensive range of frames by some great optical designers (Cutler and Gross, Olivers' Peoples, Caroline Abram... etc.) . They are not budget opticians, but they are comparable in price to others carrying the same brands and do some great offers. I got a second pair of lenses for free, so was able to get prescription sunglasses at a really good price. If you tend to invest in your eyewear, do not be put off by the reviews. Philip is really helpful without being pushy, the optometrist is very thorough and will listen to your concerns and you are very likely to find some styles you love. I could not be happier.

I visited Butcher Curnow Opticians on the off chance they might have a new glasses case for my spectacles. The friendly lady behind the reception desk straightaway found a very suitable replacement. Thank you.

Nina kindly fixed my sunglasses after the screw disappeared. Improvised and fixed it for me. Thank you so much!

Avoid at all costs. I got the wrong prescription despite paying £40 for a test. Popped over to vision express and specssavers to get another opinion, both came out with the same result, which didn’t match the prescription I got from Butcher Curnow. Staff are friendly and I wanted to support a local business but I won’t be going back for incorrect prescriptions

First time to this wonderful optician in the village. Had vision problems so called and they immediately made an appointment with the optometrist for the same afternoon. Staff were polite, friendly and very helpful. Optician was kind, professional and explained everything thoroughly. Great service from a local business.

Excellent service. My eye test was thorough and they have an excellent range of glasses. They helped me claim a new pair of frames on warranty when they broke. Would certainly recommend. Five stars.

I wouldn't hesitate to go back, phillip really went the extra mile to accommodate me Thank you phillip.

Awful customer service horribly expensive 😠 when confronted told should of asked in the first place. Nothing is priced had a free eye test replacement lenses in existing glasses nearly £400. Rude communication couldn't care less attitude. Hoping to support local business but will stick chains and recommend you don't bother.

Rude service. Firstly the person I was speaking to took a call whilst we were talking - always a bit of a no no. I wanted to have glasses, admittedly ones that I'd purchased elsewhere, fitted around the ears better, but they refused. This is only a two minute job and of course I would have been happy to give some money for this. Went around the corner to another local optician and they were only too happy to help (and refused any payment/gesture). They did, somewhat reluctantly, validate that my glasses had the right prescription (hence the second star), which was helpful. I had also popped in a few weeks previously to enquire about eye tests, but they're £40. Around the corner is £35, and others (albeit chains) have them for £25. It honestly feels like you're inconveniencing them when you walk in. People will pay to support local business, but won't be ripped off to do so.
