Used to be alright until about a year ago. The council decided to start making changes to road junctions around Bury Town centre for absolutely pointless reasons. The crossing for Bury college near the bus station - causes congestion. The new stupid bike lanes around the town hall has resulted in more congestion for road users. Funding to schools cut massively, making lots of teaching assistants redundant in primary schools, forcing them to create early years foundation units with 40 kids aged between 3 and 5 with TWO staff. Yet there's money in the budget for new windows! Not like the old ones we're smashed or anything. Windows can't teach the kids. Refuse collections that were changed to save a measly 150k resulted in months of disruption and missed bin collections. They empty the bins so fast and leave trash all over the roads and don't bother picking it up. Potholes the size of new york city and repeated raising issues like road markings missing for months and months. Wish I had the money to move to a different borough. Let's hope with today's local elections the whole lot get booted out and replaced with people who are actually compete. Bury Council are completely useless.

I'm an ex serving soldier that as fought in a war for this country. Friday the 28th April 2023 I found myself homeless. I've worked all my life and the last 18months I've struggled with mental health issues. I turned up asking for help and was treated very very poorly. Bury council will not help me unless I'm on the streets begging. It's disgusting how British citizens are treated by there own. You should all be ashamed

Not user friendly. Website is a nightmare. Unemptied bins have to be reported by 1pm . Even if you're at work and don't know if the bin has been emptied until you get home
