Over the years I have bought many plants from this nursery online. In 2015, I was really happy to go in person to look around their extensive gardens and bought a plant labelled Magnolia Butterflies and planted it in my garden. Eight years later it finally flowered, the flowers were white instead of the distinctive yellow with red stamen. I wrote to the nursery expressing my disappointment and to verify the varietal. I called them a week later as I had not heard from them. Two days after, I received an email saying that the plant was Magnolia Kobus. You put for me I was not offered an apology that I was sold the wrong plant or any recognition of their error. I now wonder if the plants that I had from them before are indeed the ones they were labelled to be. I will not be purchasing plants from them in future.

Out of date stock list, don't rely on accuracy Ordered two plants, both showing stock live on the website. Could only deliver one, which is fine as errors happen. Refused to refund the 50% proportion of the delivery charge leaving me out of pocket for one plant and now having to purchase this elsewhere. Very short-sighted as an existing customer who will not longer be providing return business.

I’d seen a number of bad reviews for the mail order side of the business but if you can visit the nursery in person then I’d definitely recommend it, an unbelievable amount of camellias, rhododendrons, azaleas and magnolias, all seeming to be in good health and at okay enough prices. Great place to visit if you’re a specialist plant lover!
