An unique experience. Thoroughly recommend especially for a special occasion. Staff, location, ambiance, food, cocktails, great jazz band. You name it, it was very special and I would go again. Rooms: The suite we had (Malcolm)was very large with a huge bath and vintage looking Nespresso coffee machine, balcony and Malcolm Campbell themed. Only downside was above kitchen so was a little noisy until 2am in morning as they were clearing away. Food & drinks: Very special. We had breakfast, afternoon tea and evening dinner and it was all spot on. Little extras like canapés and petit fours and Champagne made it extra special Noteworthy details: Luxury. Decadent. Special. From the moment you arrive and handed Champagne, friendliness of staff, food and ambiance.

This is a gem of a hotel - we had a wonderful time. We loved the dash across the spit to the island on arrival (with tales of Agatha Christie) and a glass of champagne to welcome us. We stayed in the Artists Residence above the Pilchard Inn Pub - which felt like a secret retreat (and super quiet btw as everyone leaves the island who isn't staying overnight). Huge thanks to Simmy who looked after us beautifully (particularly grateful for the warm pot of tea and sandwiches post swim around the island). We loved dressing up in black tie for a super dinner in the ballroom. Again we were looked after so well by a Latvian lady who served us. The staff in general were so helpful and thoughtful and even though we were there for for just one night we really felt we'd had a special treat away. We'd totally recommend this hotel - and look forward to coming back!
