My daughter and I had dinner at Buongiorno tonight and the food and wine was fantastic. I had the surf & turf, the prawns were fresh and delicious 😋 I fully recommend a vist. Parking: The restaurant is next to the Quaker Inn pub and a Tescos direct so there's plenty of parking.

Eccellente! Buongiorno serves Italian food prepared by Italians who obviously love what they are doing. They provide a perfect level of service - welcoming and knowledgeable, and quick. Their food is very fresh, and lovingly prepared. (Best mussels I have had. Ever. And the pasta - so good.) It is one of those places where each table of guests is sharing with other tables how good their meal is. We plan on stopping by every time we visit York. (Plenty of parking, too.)

Wow. You HAVE to try this place! It doesn’t look much from the outside but my goodness it was an incredible meal. I had the fish special, can’t remember which fish - I just know that it was delightful. I am used to having my fish boned at the table, but the owners honesty was so admirable - they are small and busy. Instead, he taught me in ten seconds the easy pro tip to doing it myself. So not only was it delicious, I learned something too! I loved the passion and authenticity of the owner. It really transported me to Sicily. What a wonderful hidden gem. If this was in central York, there would be queues around the block (iykyk). We tried the recommended wine as well and it was so nice to try something new. Top tip: ask for the recommendation and go for it! 100% will come back next time I am in York.

Recommended to this restaurant & it certainly didn’t disappoint! My husband had a seafood spaghetti, I had ragu with three slow cooked meats. We also enjoyed two amazing desserts& fabulous Sardinian wine. Just had to book again for a couple of weeks time & cannot wait. x
