We dropped of our 14 month old miniature bull terrier Bear who was constantly and confused how to separate excitement from biting and was making our lives so hard so we decided to call Stephen who we found on the internet. All his reviews were great and now we see why he listened to what our problems were and agreed to take our dog for a month for board training. 1 month later we picked him up and to our suprise Bear came back like a different dog his biting has near on completely stopped he listens to all of our commands with simple tools Stephen taught us to keep him calm we couldn't have been happier and can now spend nice times with our boy.

Brilliant ! My dog came home a delight,I can walk him without being dragged ,he walks off lead and comes back when asked.such a difference. The lesson a week later was a good follow-up. More for me, being shown a couple of things I could improve and to make it more fun . Would highly recommend.

We were recommended to Stephen and are so pleased we were. We have a fox red lab/visla and he is affectionate, alert and energetic. He is a big dog and very powerful. We have had him since a puppy and done various training with him. His recall was about 80% and he was generally pretty good .However, sometimes, out of the blue, he would snap and even bite. Then be very sorry afterwards. We found the situation very difficult, he is a family dog and we did not know what to do. We were worried his behaviour would escalate, we were losing our confidence and we wanted to enjoy having the dog. Being so big and fast we also needed to know we were fully in control, and we were not. We spoke to Stephen who very quickly helped us to understand what our options were and various reasons why Jem maybe behaving in this way. We took Jem for an assessment and then he stayed with Stephen and Tom for 4 weeks. They turned our world upside down in such a good way. We had worked hard at previous training but they taught us a whole new philosophy on how to be with the dog and it immediately made sense and felt so much more natural. We had been micro managing the dog and neither the dog nor us were spending enough time relaxing in our own space. Stephen spent 4 weeks with Jem resetting his routine and we had a couple of lessons to show us how to take over. We are enjoying the new routine, and it has transformed our walks. We are now working with the dog, rather than feeling the pressure to keep telling him what to do then rewarding him. We are more relaxed and confident and the dog is more relaxed and in confident in us. We thought we were at a dead end but it is like a fresh start and lead walking, being on his own, relaxing with us and time on walks have all improved dramatically to be honest we are enjoying it now even more than we thought we would before we decided to get a dog. We are learning, the dogs learning and that’s so much more fun than being taught or being the teacher!

We were at our wit's end with our 18-month-old Dachshund Obelix. He is a very wilful beast, who had terrible recall, barked whenever remotely displeased, guarded his (and our) resources with a passion and was randomly aggressive with dogs and people to the point we had to muzzle him on public transport. All of this was made worse by the addition of our first child to the pack, his defensiveness and aggression skyrocketed and peaked at him nipping a family friend and my wife. We had seen various dog trainers for sessions before and even a dachshund specialist but none of what they taught really stuck or any changes were incredibly hard fought. We resolved to go the whole hog and have him go to training school. We had some recommended to us and others we found online but we decided to go for Stephen and Tom after reading all the incredible reviews, particularly dealing with aggression we arranged to have him for a four-week stay assuming our introductory meeting went well. We were rather surprised to learn from Stephen and Tom that Obelix is a Teckel aka a working dachshund with the energy to match. Which probably explains why he was rather frustrated with life in London. Our meeting with Stephen and Tom went well they listened to our list of issues and watched us walk and play with Obelix to gauge the relationship. After which they said they should be able to help with the issues we were having and that was it off we went leaving Obelix in their capable hands. While in training we were given minimal updates and the idea was very much to leave them to it. When we picked Bix (his new shortened name) he seemed incredibly receptive and attentive to Stephen. His recall on the whistle was remarkable for a dog that four short weeks before barely registered his name. We had a session with Stephen and then were sent home to practice what we had learned. The first week was great walking in the park was so much easier knowing if we needed him to return then all we need do is whistle. There were some issues re heeling and barking in the house still. Fortunately, as part of the four-week stay we had another follow-up session with Stephen and Tom a week later. They walked us through how we were heeling Bix incorrectly and how to better use the whistle. They also gave some suggestions on how to curtail the barking which worked perfectly. He still woofs from time to time but not the 45 minutes of woofing non-stop we were living with before. His aggression seems to be largely gone (he does occasionally get cross when on his lead but we know how to deal with it in the moment and discourage further outbursts). He heels beautifully most of the time and is getting better each day. Most importantly we can have proper fun long walks with Bix without him or us getting frustrated. I really can’t recommend the services of Stephen and Tom enough. We have told all of our friends who are dog owners and will send any future dogs we have to get the Bulled & Son training treatment.

We found Stephen and Tom online and although we didn’t have serious issues with our Black Labrador Elton, he needed some work. Elton did the four week residential course and the results have been brilliant. His whistle recall is near perfect and the loose lead walking has been a revelation. The follow up session the week after was also very useful for us as the owners to show what we need to continuously be working on. I can’t recommend Bulled & Son highly enough.

Years of random failed training attempts and finally one that works. Max loved his time there and was insanely happy to get back for the follow up. Highly recommend.

Firstly there are not the words to give thanks enough to Stephen and Tom. Zac had become reactive and walking him was no longer an enjoyable time. He pulled on the lead and did not respond. None of this was his fault. I know that we, as owners, were to blame. Zac spent 4 weeks with them and it was by far the best investment I have ever made. He is a different dog in so many positive ways. Walking is now a joy and I am so proud of him. We have been taught the skills to keep it going and we now have an amazing relationship with our boy. Understandings the how's and why's of our dog is invaluable. He's calmer at home and we even made it to the pub to sit by the fire. Their training has changed our lives and we promise to keep it up. Thank you again so much for training US to give Zac the best possible life.

We highly recommend Bulled & Son! Thanks to Steve and Tom we have totally changed the relationship with our dog Ted. Ted is a Working Cocker Spaniel and was 18mths when he went for residential training in September 2022. We were at a pretty low point. Ted had become so lead averse that we couldn’t go for walks or leave the house without a battle. He also had moments of aggression, and even though he was great 90% of the time, these flashes became increasingly challenging and we didn’t know how to handle and improve the situation. We saw various trainers and a behaviourist but Ted showed no real signs of improvement. He wasn’t having a great time and neither were we. We seriously considered rehoming him because as much as we loved him, we felt he wasn’t having the life he deserved. After some research, we decided that residential training might be a good option. We found Bulled & Son online and having read all the positive reviews and watching some videos on Instagram, we felt it would be the right choice for Ted - positive but firm and lots of other spaniels! As many people have said, leaving your dog is very nerve-wracking but as we pulled into their farm and saw the fantastic amount of space and the other dogs, that went away quickly. We met Steve and he had the measure of Ted quicker than anyone else we had seen. After doing the initial session, we were very comfortable leaving Ted and felt reassured that he was in great hands. We got an update after the first 10days and then once a week after that. We also saw Ted in the occasional Instagram video and he looked like he was having a good time. When we went to go and pick Ted up (he ended up staying five weeks, rather than the standard four), we were nervous all over again. Would he remember us, had he made progress… when we arrived he came racing over to us and through the next hour training session we could see just how much progress he had made. It was also clear how much work we had to do as owners. Over the following weeks, we did exactly what Steve and Tom had showed us. They also offer a follow-up training session a week after collecting your dog to reinforce the training and we found the online videos really helpful to check we remembered things correctly. This all makes it great value, when considering how much boarding and individual training sessions can cost. The positive changes for us were fairly immediate and over time have changed how we engage with Ted, in particular: - A simple and consistent training routine - paring everything back and making it really clear for Ted; - Knowing how and when to be firm; - Rethinking how we use food in training - moving from bribing with treats, to making his regular meals part of training and building a bond. We know that we need to keep up the training but since Ted’s stay, we can get his lead on with no problem, he has become great walking on and off lead and we know how to properly use a whistle, which Ted has responded to brilliantly. Since Ted’s initial stay, he has been back with Steve and Tom for a week when we went on holiday. It’s great to know he has somewhere he is really comfortable and will also get a little refresh in his training. When we went to pick him up, Ted was sitting on the car tailgate next to Tom and looked very content! This experience has been overwhelmingly positive and improved all our lives - especially Ted’s. I just wish we had done it earlier!

I have had 5 session with Stephen and Tom to help train my Dobermans puppy Margo she was 5 months when we started the first session. She is now listening to me and walking beautifully on the lead, recall is great, impulse training brilliant, and she is so much calmer. We worked on all of the above then they added the distraction of other dogs which was priceless. Can't thank you both enough for making it very simple and easy to follow. Going back next year for some more advanced training and will continue with sessions when l need some help. Lindy and Margo
