Firstly the staff that are there were all very friendly & helpful, sadly nowhere near enough staff !! Do the best they can Staff ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Room itself ok, bed comfy - but needs updating. Also be aware some rooms are over kitchen - like sleeping in a sauna !! ( great in winter - not when in a mini heat wave) fan on continues, window wide open - very little relief- even the wood banister was warm to touch - despite curtains drawn. 11-13/6/23 Pre booked Sunday roast to eat outside ( only area dogs can go except room) , waste of time, a function was on in the lounge - full focus was on the function!! On arrival did mention ( twice) that lunch booked for outside - that’s when it would have been good to tell me that due to function/ lack of staff you had to order in bar & sort own cutlery etc. Nobody checked if food was ok, took ages to clear table ( think our conversation / comment on this was overheard in reception office - as cleared within a few minutes) - especially annoying when 4 hours later another couple got the service you expect when eating out while sat in the garden - bad show. Food itself was ok - choose wisely especially breakfast - don’t have pancakes !!! To sum it up - in 12 month has gone downhill a lot which is a real shame. GREEN KING needs to spend some serious money here, more hospitality staff ( trained in customer service) needed, Would not stay again unless much improved.

Lovely stay in a quiet village. The hotel is beautiful with such character, floors are uneven throughout and was fun to navigate them after a few drinks. Room was very clean with all the usual thing you'd expect. Staff were polite especially at breakfast and happy to help with additional requests. The continental breakfast was good.
